A Home away from Home

December 1, 2017

If you’re looking for the perfect relaxing weekend getaway, then The Rectory Hotel should be at the top of your list.

Located in the beautiful Cotswolds, the 3-star country house hotel is perfect for couples and friends alike.

In between Malmesbury and Cirencester, the historic village of Crudwell dates back to the Domesday Book and right at the centre of this picturesque village sits The Rectory Hotel.

With lovely Georgian proportions and gorgeous interiors, the hotel feels more like a home away from home than a hotel.

The rooms and bathrooms are spacious with beautiful touches like window seats, freestanding vintage inspired baths, gorgeous soaps and creams, and wonderful cosy robes to relax in.

For your comfort, a newspaper of your choosing is delivered straight to your door in the morning. Perfect to enjoy over a bubble bath, or a cup of tea.

There is even an honesty bar located outside the rooms filled with fresh milk, juices, and water.

It isn’t just the rooms that are lovely, the staff are incredibly warm and welcoming. They do their utmost to make sure you enjoy your stay. They are also extremely knowledgeable when it comes to things to do in the area, offering you plenty of maps should you want to go out and explore.

Speaking of exploring, the location of the hotel couldn’t be better. It’s surrounded by beautiful lakes, villages, and walks, all within a few minutes drive. Perfect, if you don’t want to venture too far from the hotel.

If you’re a foodie than you’ll be very pleased that you stumbled upon The Rectory Hotel. The food is exquisite, as is the service. With plenty of lovely dishes to choose from and a generous wine list, it’s fine dining without being pretentious. All to be enjoyed in front a brewing fire, or in the hotel’s beautiful glass house.

So, for a wonderful food experience, be sure to have breakfast and dinner at the hotel and lunch at The Potting Shed, the hotel’s sister pub, located just a stones throw away.

An old favourite of Prince William and Duchess Kate, The Potting Shed oozes country charm and the food fails to disappoint, as does the service.

Using locally sourced ingredients and seasonal produce, The Potting Shed serves up beautiful dishes, that will leave you feeling very satisfied. You would do well to find a better pub lunch. And, if you’re a pudding person, you’re in for a treat. The desserts are delicious and the portions sizes are generous, perfect if you’re in a sharing mood.
