A weekend at the Arden Hotel

April 11, 2019

There are some fabulous UK destinations to visit and experience  – some of them feel like you’re in another world. I recently visited The Arden Hotel, part of the Eden Hotel collection; a privately-owned portfolio of nine beautiful properties in the UK. The Arden Hotel is beautifully placed alongside the river Avon in the historical town of Stratford-Upon-Avon. The location of the hotel is spot on and opposite is the Royal Shakespeare Company Theatre and there is plenty to do in this busy city.

I arrived mid afternoon to the Arden hotel and was greeted most pleasantly by the members of staff at reception. As soon as I walked through the door there was a fresh chic vibe. The interior was beautiful, the furniture style and silhouettes went really well with the rich velvet fabrics and textures. A modern twist with a touch of vintage chic.

I was escorted to my room and shown round the facilities available to me during my luxurious stay. The room was wonderful! The vintage style of decor was definitely running throughout the hotel featuring an abundance of rich colours and textures. The bathroom was very modern and minimalist, just as I like it! The room featured a comfortable lounge area with a sofa, coffee table with a lovely array of fresh fruit and a large TV. The room also came with all the normal facilities such as tea and coffee, robes and slippers, safety deposit box and gorgeous smelly bathroom essentials!

Once settled in I put my feet up and the kettle on to sit back and take in the gorgeous decorative pieces around the room!

After a peaceful and relaxing few hours I couldn’t wait for dinner! But first I tested the shower out, had a freshen up, an outfit change and I was ready for the evening.

The restaurant is called the Waterside Brassiere as it’s placed opposite the riverside. There are such pretty views of the river and you could spend all day just watching people enjoying themselves walking by the river. This will be perfect for the Spring and Summer evenings that are fast approaching!

The restaurant had just revealed they had recently changed their menu, creating a fresh new and exciting look. We were lucky enough to try it! It is called No. 44. The inspiration of this new menu is to make the dining experience a touch more adventurous and sociable. To encourage people to come and experience the sharing dishes, whilst soaking up the stunning atmosphere. This new part of the menu is call the ‘shareables’ and is designed to encourage the guests to explore a wider variety of dishes, with their friends. It is advised to share between five to six small plates between two. This allows the diners to try a combination of options and to be left feeling satisfied.

The dining experience was wonderful. Everyone was so attentive! First of all we sat down for a drink and found a little seating area with coffee tables and flowers. Again stunningly presented. After perusing the menu and choosing our dishes we moved to our table, waiting in anticipation for our food, we were famished!

The food is freshly prepared in the kitchen and served to the table as soon as it is ready, putting the traditional dining experience as a thing of the past. This creates a really laid back and relaxed atmosphere and allows guests to graze on delicious food whilst hanging out, kicking back and having a few drinks. It’s dining without the formalities.

I started with Vietnamese spring rolls, a very different and fashionable up and coming cuisine that has started to show up in the latest trendy restaurants!

For  our main course I had the delicious chicken with potatoes with some veg! The chicken was so tasty, due in part to the sauce that it was presented in! I could have eaten it all over again!

The portions were all about quality not quantity, which is what I love! I would rather have three perfectly tasty plates of delicious tasting food than filling up on two larger dishes.

For dessert I chose chocolate brownie with ice cream and strawberries, which was heaven!! So so delicious! The perfect finale to this absolutely divine feast.

After I finished dinner the waitress escorted me to my room with drinks and nibbles! It was then time to get in my robe and slippers and take advantage of the lounge area.

If you are up for a weekend away in the UK I highly recommend this pretty and quaint hotel! You can’t go wrong! The Arden Hotel is a gorgeous hotel with such wonderfully presented decor, along with a warm friendly welcome.

A room starts from £119 for two including a full English breakfast! I can definitely say there were lots of lovely options for breakfast! I sat at the prime table looking out to the river!!! A spot made in heaven and really quite romantic!
