BUBBLE BROS’ ‘60S FIRE ENGINE ROLLS INTO HENLEY
July 1, 2019
This July, Bubble Bros, Ben Broad and Joe Bruce will bring their craft Italian fizz to Henley Royal Regatta, pouring Prosecco and cocktails from their new mobile spritz bar. Renowned for their creative reimagination of vintage vehicles, Bubble Bros will take their latest addition for a spin – a newly restored 1971 German Opel Blitz fire engine – operating as the main dispense in the Temple Island Meadows hospitality area.
From Wednesday 3rd through Sunday 7th July, Bubble Bros will serve up chilled Prosecco by the glass, directly from the fire engine’s four taps. Bottles of Bubble Bros signature D.O.C Prosecco will also be available at all of the main bars in Temple Island Meadows. Mixing it up with some original spritzes, Ben and Joe have curated a menu of Prosecco cocktails including The Brit Spritz and Sorrento Sparkle.
First established in 2015, touring festivals in a classic Piaggio Ape, co-Founders Ben and Joe have gathered a loyal following over the last four years, serving over 100,000 glasses of bubbles, pouring flutes at the top of the Gherkin, and bringing the UK Bellini ice lollies, whilst pursuing their passion for restoring vintage vehicles.
The team have now built the business to include seven vans, a spritz serving fire truck and the world’s first motorbike with a sidecar bar. They all feature regularly at festivals around the UK, with the recent addition of an outpost in the US.
As well as appearing during Henley this year, Bubble Bros are on the road at Glastonbury, Lovebox, Latitude, Creamfields, Reading and a number of BBC Good Food Festivals. They are also launching a crowd funding campaign to raise funds and expand their business in order to help distribute their own fantastic range of English and Italian sparkling wines.
“Joe and I always try to get down to Henley for some sun-drenched indulgence and, one Summer, we overheard a Henley regular lamenting that there was nowhere to get cold prosecco. As lovers of all things bubbly we vowed to end the drought!” says Ben. “We want to make great prosecco accessible to all and at such a prestigious annual event, it’s our chance to bring our fun, friendly approach to bubbles to the water’s edge,” added Joe.
