Cape Town’s One and Only The Onyx Hotel is Going to be the Hottest Place to go next Summer
Nothing quite excites me more than a getaway! I had the privilege of spending time in Cape Town at the luxurious Onyx Hotel.
This dramatic repurposing of the iconic Nedbank Building is situated in the residential revival of Cape Town’s historic Heerengracht and just 10 minutes’ walk from the V&A Waterfront.
I was pleased to arrive at this very stylish hotel with lovely, welcoming staff who checked me in and helped me with my TON of luggage – it was as if I were staying for a year!
They offer a variety of spacious self-catering apartments. I was in the deluxe suite, which was kitted out with everything you would need for a perfect staycation, including a fully equipped kitchen, flat-screen TV, fresh and clean linen as well as towels in the bathroom. The bedroom also has a beautiful view of the busy city
They also have a gym, inside pool and beautiful balcony for residents to chill and relax. Also a good enough reason to lie on the sunbeds and read your favourite book.
Although this is a self-catering hotel, some of the rooms are equipped with lovely kitchenettes, so you can still cook up a storm. If you’re not up for making your own food, you can always head downstairs to YU Asian Restaurant for dinner/ Lunch and take my word, because that’s exactly what I did. The menu is amazing with so many mouth-watering options from Asian tapas, sushi and dim sums, to sticky ribs.
I was further treated to a scrumptious, delicious breakfast at MRKT that goes on till 11am. Their restaurant is filled with wonderful aromas from the delicious meals and pastries being cooked. Starting the day with a breakfast from them was the perfect element to top off my stay.
