Dragons of Walton Street: New Bespoke Beds
Dragons of Walton Street has been leading the way in luxury nursery design for almost 40 years, bringing childhood dreams to life with exquisite designs and bespoke roomsets.
Their most technical venture to date, the new Helicopter Bed is crafted from steel and hand-sculpted high-density resin and finished using a high-gloss painted surface to achieve the smoothest of curves.
Complete with a personalised dashboard, joystick, in-built USB ports, speakers, walkie-talkies and flashing taillights, the Helicopter Bed is so much more than just a place for aspiring pilots to rest their head. A testament to Dragons’ reputation for producing remarkable designs, it
marks the beginning of an exciting new venture for Dragons into one-of-a-kind pieces, for clients who seek the extraordinary.
Unlocking a whole world of imagination, the bed comes with an optional top-deck desk and integrated LED lighting.
From future pilots to budding secret agents – Dragons introduces the VC150, a Vintage Car Bed inspired by British classic cars of the 1960s. As the first of its kind, the VC150 features authentic rubber tyres and red faux leather upholstery, ensuring little ones experience the real luxury of a sixties grand tourer. Finished with sophisticated fibreglass panelling and classic chrome accessories, including side mirrors, wheel caps and fully functioning headlights, no detail has been overlooked to create this extraordinary bed.
The VC150 comes complete with car keys, a personalised number plate and tinted Perspex windows. This unique bed also includes super-soft bedding made from 100% cotton and an ultra-comfortable 1000 pocket sprung mattress, ensuring the best night’s sleep.
From concept to manufacture, the Dragons Interior Design team deliver highly technical and innovative beds to order, showcasing the unlimited design potential the Dragons service provides.
From the smallest details including in-built night light, personalised plaques and number plates, through to the bigger decisions involving the body and upholstered leather, customisation is at the heart of everything Dragons do.
Following on from the company’s motto that anything is possible, the design team offer unrivalled specialist expertise on everything from fabrics and artwork, to upholstery and installation, be that in the UK or overseas.
Working tirelessly to transform any idea into a beautiful, inspiring and functional interior, the design service is based in the new Dragons showroom on 150 Walton Street in Chelsea, that will be open in November 2019.
Forty years after it originally opened its doors on Walton Street in 1979, Dragons of Walton Street is returning home to a 1,709 sq ft showroom in one of London’s most iconic shopping destinations. Housing an abundance of Dragons’ treasures, space will showcase an array of bestselling furniture, inspirational room sets and artwork possibilities. Complete with a personalisation bar and experiential displays, Dragons will be a 360-destination experience.
Speaking about the move, Dragons’ Creative Director and daughter of the founder, Lucinda Croft says: “We are so excited to be moving back to Walton Street! This is where my mother’s dream started all those years ago and it is such a privilege to be able to return home. Dragons has grown so much over the past few years that we realised we needed the space to showcase our new projects and designs that many of our clients will not have seen. The new showroom will offer us the opportunity to do just that, as an experiential space that delights all the senses.”
Going into its fifth decade of hand-painting children’s furniture and accessories, Dragons continues to provide the ultimate in children’s interiors. With an extensive range of products predominantly built and hand-finished by talented in-house artists at the West Sussex studio, Dragons is unrivalled in its dedication to quality, attention to detail and the ability to deliver bespoke craftsmanship.
