Hattingley Valley World Champion – All that glitters is not just gold!
December 8, 2017
Hattingley Valley’s Blanc de Blanc 2011 Magnum came away from the prestigious Champagne and Sparkling Wine World (CSWWC) 2017 as World Champion by style. The same wine also picked up a Gold Medal, Best in Class English Blanc de Blanc Magnum and Best in Class Blanc de Blancs. The team attended the award ceremony at Vintners’ Hall on 14th September and were delighted to be crowned World Champions again, beating all international competition for the title. Hattingley also picked up a Gold Medal for its 2014 Rosé and Silver Medal for its first release of non-vintage Classic Reserve.
This makes Hattingley Valley the first English wine producer to win two World Champion titles in this prestigious competition, with our Rosé 2011 crowned World Champion Vintage Rosé.
The CSWWC is one of the most respected international sparkling wine competitions in the world, judged by the renowned fizz experts Tom Stevenson, Essi Avellan MW and Dr Tony Jordan.
