Ilala Lodge Victoria Falls – A perfect location to explore Africa’s adventure capital
On a recent trip to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, we were recommended to stay at Ilala Lodge by African travel specialists Sikeleli Travel and Expeditions. The hotel is conveniently located close to The Falls (a mere 8 minutes walk away), has a beautiful classic design with charming staff and excellent food in the award-winning Palm Restaurant, as a live pianist played in the background, including fresh bream and steak which were cooked to perfection.
Our deluxe double room had a private balcony where you could spot the wildlife eating on the extensive grounds and comfortable bed with the obligatory mosquito nets and marble bathroom with huge walk-in shower.
We enjoyed lounging by the newly refurbished pool complete with stylish cabanas and attentive waiter service. Of course we took a magnificent trip to Victoria Falls, as that was our main purpose of visiting and which were indeed breathtaking, and certainly a view to behold – definitely one to add to your bucket list – leave plenty of space on your camera as you’ll want to capture every part of this Natural Wonder Of The World. On our second, we took a scenic sunset river cruise along the Zambezi River on the luxurious Ra Ikane riverboat where we sipped G&T’s and spotted pods of Hippos, elephants and crocodiles not to mention stunning scenery and an exquisite sunset.
All in all, it was a wonderful and memorable stay in every way and I would highly recommend Ilala Lodge to anyone wishing to visit Victoria Falls.
