Jill Vidal Launch ” Vidal Jewelry ” at Kee Club
November 28, 2016
Jill Vidal, a renowned singer in Hong Kong, has first-hand experience when it comes to second chances, and so she has decided to pass on the hope with the launch of her jewellery label VIDAL and its first collection named “46.” Produced by and in collaboration with a charity organization and international jewellery label Eden Ministry, a big portion of the profits will go directly into providing rescue shelters, skills training and ultimately a career to the women in need.
Behind The Scenes with Jill Vidal
All the bracelets are designs by Jill and are handcrafted by former sex traffickers in Southeast Asia, who have traded exploitation for training and employment through the support and full-profit donations from non-profit partner group, Eden Ministry. Human and sex trafficking in Asia is a problem that’s often a taboo to talk about. But just like any other persons in need, the ladies who fell victim to sex work and human trafficking are worthy of a second chance at freedom and a new page in life.
Handmade using fine braided threads and sapphire stones from Myanmar Burma and paved set in 18K gold, the 46 bracelets were designed by Jill to raise awareness and fight against sex trafficking and prostitution. With women empowerment as the core ethos, the bracelets are made for every woman to go with any outfit and for years to come.
“ I respect and admire the work that Eden Ministry does to rescue the women who were once trafficked into prostitution – Eden restores their sense of identity, giving them freedom and hope. Eden Ministry provides programs for them to be employed through jewellery making.
Through their jewellery business platform, they provide career and skill training- empowering women and preparing them for a new life and future which they can call their own. ”
Jill Vidal, founder of VIDAL
Now a reborn Christian, Jill has gone through a lot of hardship during her time under the limelight. But the last few years spent on the road to recovery have led her to a new start in her music career and a new life. The name and number 46 was chosen in honour of its spiritual significance over those hard few years, while the label’s namesake stands for Jill’s family name – “ life ” in Spanish.
The collection is now available for sale online exclusively at PhatRice.
VIDAL began as a hobby for founder Jill Vidal when she decided to make bracelets for her friends and family stemming from a love for jewellery. After recovering from a life changing incident, she realised the importance of second chances and decided to launch VIDAL’s first collection in collaboration with Eden Ministry to raise awareness and help fight sex trafficking.
About Eden Ministry
Eden Ministry started with two housewives desiring to do something about human trafficking in their city. They began to prayer-walk around the red light areas and build relationships with all those involved in the sex industry. The vision was to restore freedom for the enslaved captives of Asia’s sex industry through holistic programmes – transforming body, mind and spirit. With Eden Ministry’s international jewellery business as a platform, they provide shelters, career and skills training to empower these women for a new life and future. They continually innovate prevention and outreach programmes, aiming to transform the entire community.
