Experience a Salomon Bespoke Ski Boot Fitting
To take full advantage of customisation, boots need to be professionally fitted at a specialist snowsports store.

The teams are skilled at modifying existing or new boots to achieve that perfect fit, so whether it’s stretching, grinding or softening, they’ll remedy potential problems to give a precise fit, greater comfort which can even lead to improved skiing skills.
Ahead of Luxuria Lifestyle’s forthcoming ski trip, founder Kevin Rose experienced a boot fitting at the Ellis Brigham store in Covent Garden, London. Ellis Brigham is the mountain sports specialists, experts in all snow and mountain activities, catering to all of your sporting needs. Kevin had a pre-arranged appointment with the ski boot fitting expert. He had been geared up on Kevin’s requirements, approximate shoe size, and skiing ability. Several pairs of 2020 Salomon ski boots were brought out for Kevin to try, but first, numerous foot measurements were taken using all manner of not very technical-looking tools. These were precision pieces to ensure complete comfort and snug-fitting boots to be worn for maximum performance and warmth.
The fitting took some time, boots went on and off, Kevin stood up straight, bent his knees and pushed his feet back and forth before the expert decided exactly which size was perfect for Kevin. This was not the end, the boots were then put in a heater to soften the outer boot and further mold the boots for a truly bespoke fit. Kevin felt the boots were very snug but was told it’s extremely important that there is as little movement inside them as possible, this ensures maximum control of the skis for improved skiing skills.
A few tips when having a boot fitting – wear thin socks, allow plenty of time for the measuring service, the fitting takes place without the soft inner liner, your shoe size has nothing to do with your ski boot size. When you finally decide on the correct boot for you, take them home and walk around in them at home. If you find that there are some ‘hot spots’ don’t panic, you can always take the boots back to Ellis Brigham and they can tweak them to relieve those little niggles.
Kevin tried these Salomon boots out within a few days on the snow at Ski Centre in Hemel Hempstead, a 160-meter indoor facility, with a great café, efficient button lifts, skilled coaches and varied terrain. From the moment Kevin hit the slopes, he was at complete ease with the boots, they didn’t exactly feel like slippers but were warm and perfectly snug as recommended they should be. Kevin has been taking full advantage of the boots and Snow Centre to ensure he really looks the part on his Christmas trip to La Rosiere Hyatt Centric.
