L’Arche de Noé racontée par Van Cleef & Arpels 2017
March 17, 2017
For more than a century the animal kingdom has captivated the imagination of Van Cleef & Arpels, resulting in countless High Jewelry creations that celebrate its diverse beauty.
“ The Maison often creates a dialogue between its own identity and heritage on one hand, and broad historical themes and references from other cultural spheres. This was the case for the High Jewelry collection, L’Arche de Noé racontée par Van Cleef & Arpels, inspired by a Jan Brueghel the Elder painting. The Installation designed by Robert Wilson displaying these pieces is coming for the first time to Hong Kong, in Asia, ” said Mr. Nicolas Bos, President and CEO of Van Cleef & Arpels.

The Installation, first presented in Paris last September, showcases the Maison’s latest High Jewelry collection against a stunning backdrop designed by highly-acclaimed American theater and visual artist, Robert Wilson.
Known for his signature use of light, his investigations into the structure of a simple movement, and the classical rigor of his scenic and furniture design, Wilson’s work has earned the praise of audiences and critics worldwide.
This immersive Installation re-imagines a mythical adventure across the seas while highlighting over 40 couples of jewels that celebrate fauna including mischievous monkeys, bounding kangaroos, galloping horses and exotic birds ready to take flight.
