Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort and Spa, Luxury in Dubai

October 23, 2017

Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort & Spa is set on an idyllic stretch of white sandy beach towards the end of Jumeirah Beach Residence, making it the ideal location for a break in the sun, but equally ideal for sightseeing and business. The airport, Dubai Mall and Downtown are all within a thirty-minute drive.

The hotel itself has recently been refurbished, creating a contemporary feel. It is spacious, spread across three main buildings and encompasses and abundance of style and character. The lobby oozes natural light and features white hanging chairs and funky Arabic artwork on the walls. The ambience is of pure unadulterated luxury and grace, welcoming and relaxing, attracting a certain type of discerning clientele, smart and chic.

Along with the large beach, which hosts a selection of water sports, there is an extensive lawn area with football nets and table tennis, and three scenic pools leaving guests with plenty of space and a sumptuous guaranteed sunbed, with fluffy towels on which to enjoy the endless sunny hours. At the poolside we were well catered to, there was a waiter service straight to your luxury sun lounger, ice cold flannels, water sprays, and cold water or slush puppies were  brought to us throughout the day, every day, how could we ever leave? But we did manage to remove ourselves from the sun to use the fabulous gym, just to ease our guilt a smidge.

All guests have complimentary access to the Roman themed Caracalla Spa, which boasts a state of the art and fully equipped gym, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and a thermal suite, which has five pools of different temperatures, and believe me we did take full advantage of these facilities to ensure complete holiday mode, after all lying around by the pool all day is so exhausting!.  The facilities available at Le Royal Meridien are exceptional, second to none.

We received excellent service from all members of staff. Initially greeted with a wave of hellos from concierge, and then the attentive reception staff at check in. There are 504 rooms and suites, which have also been renovated, many of which feature a balcony with jaw dropping views of the Arabian coast. The highlight of our Royal Club Suite was the floor-to-ceiling windows throughout both the lounge area and bedroom. Bedrooms are also fitted with blackout curtains and large comfortable beds, as well as generous bathrooms, full of aromatic goodies, with both a shower and bathtub.

Guests staying in these luxury suites also have the honour of enjoying access to Le Royal Club Lounge. Between 3pm – 5pm guests are treated to complimentary afternoon tea, which includes sandwiches and a selection of cakes, as well as a collection of different teas and coffee. On one occasion we even got this delivered to our room! Further to this, pre-dinner drinks are also served between 6pm -8pm, where you can enjoy atmospheric cocktails on the terrace overlooking the gardens and ocean.

Royal Meridien has a generous ten international restaurants offering everything from Mexican and Italian to Seafood and Arabian, leaving you spoilt for choice. Brasserie 2.0 is where the breakfast is served, but is also an all-day eatery with phenomenal buffet dinners. Breakfast is a large buffet, which ensures everyone is catered for – whether it’s a full English breakfast, Indian dosa, or traditional Arabic mezze. There is also an omelette bar, fresh fruit, and numerous pastries!

In additional to its ten restaurants, Royal Meridien offers a regular shuttle bus to its sister hotel The Grosvenor, which overlooks the stunning marina and has numerous dining options that can be included in your half/full board allowance. We dined in Zengo, the pan-asian restaurant, on ladies night, which offered 50% off the food and three drinks tokens to all ladies. Live music was played by their resident DJ, creating the perfect atmosphere to enjoy the professional salsa dancers while we dined.

Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort & Spa is an ideal resort for all the family, offering something for everyone due to the spectacular facilities. From beautiful beaches, to large pools with swim up bars, and a wonderful spa, along with the large selection of restaurants, guests can look forward to a relaxed stay in a contemporary setting.
