Martini Fiero and Laura Jackson in collaboration with Radio Alice

Martini has partnered with TV presenter and supper club hostess Laura Jackson to host an exclusive event. Radio Alice’s launch of a new Aperitivo menu to compliment Martini Fiero; the dishes pair perfectly with this exciting Martini Aperitif! This is a limited edition menu (20th November at Radio Alice Hoxton) so be sure to get down there and try it ASAP.

Laura and Radio Alice wanted to create something authentic to the Italian palate and traditions but using a modern interpretation. The Apertivo menu shows a wonderful balance of bitter notes and sweetness that manages to portray a romantic Italian Piazza experience. The winning combination of sweet and savoury combines expertly with the Martini Fiero.

Everybody loves pizza! And Radio Alice manages to pull off a wonderful experience with a beautiful culinary journey. You absolutely must try Radio Alice’s way of eating pizza…They have locations in Clapham Common, Hoxton Square and we can’t wait to check out the new location in Canary Wharf. The Canary Wharf establishment is situated in the Mall and you always know a successful launch when it is followed by second and third locations in the same year.

As we all know; excellent ingredients are the cornerstone to exceptional food. Then you must rely on the creativity of the chef’s to make it intriguing both visually and on the taste bud. Radio Alice achieve this by using organic Stoneground flour and wild yeast which they allow to rest for 24 hours. Stoneground flour is better for you and the earth which I believe is important as we all must behave responsibly to one another and the planet we live on. Now, if you are really serious about eating a slice, then this is the place for you. Crunchy yet soft (how do they do that?) healthy toppings arranged in an aesthetically pleasing manner that not only looks tasty but look healthy. Radio Alice is affordable so, there are absolutely no excuses.

The menu offers a nice variety but I went for Winter Wonderland, a white pizza with roasted butternut squash, mushrooms, goat cheese and mozzarella which worked perfectly in this autumnal season. The Margherita which you can never go wrong with as the dough was soft and perfectly cooked. The 24-hour fermentation really shows its worth here, If you choose a simpler pizza, such as a Margherita then the ingredients rise to the challenge and show themselves. I love how Radio Alice uses beautiful organic ingredients, treat them with care and serves its customers with the same attention to detail. Our waiter made sure we enjoyed the experience and even managed to have a conversation with us, which is extremely rare these days! To get more than a few sentences out of overworked waiters is a bonus.

Of course, we couldn’t just eat pizza and go…The dessert menu loomed large over our meal as I couldn’t keep my eyes off it. I was loving the sound of ‘Banana Gelato topped with Chocolate Chip Cookie and Caramel’ I’m salivating just typing it out. I was served this heavenly piece of culinary delight in a delicate portion size that I think was perfection. The banana gelato was so lovely and did actually taste of banana. The chocolate chip cookie pierces added great texture to the dish and the caramel gave the sweetness every dessert craves. Needless to say, I was extremely satisfied but I managed to steal a spoonful of my friend’s dessert; she had the ‘Double Layer Chocolate Cake and Vanilla Gelato’. This portion was not respectful to your waistline, so be warned…The Chocolate Cake is big and rich and almost impossible to finish after a pizza. Definitely a sharer.

After we posted on Social Media we received so many compliments about the quality of the food and also people that have experienced Radio Alice themselves and wanted to confirm what a wonderful time they had had. A beautiful pizzeria, wonderful ingredients and engaging staff make Radion Alice a place I will be going back to. Make sure its a place you visit too…
