Miramar Beach Hotel & Spa a slice of seaside paradise
Oh my word, I was very spoilt last year, staying in 5-star luxury in Bali and Portugal and then returning to my favourite place in the world, Cote d’Azur, Southern France. The food, climate, people, landscape and coastline are just amazing, it’s a glamorous and interesting part of the world. You will never be lost for something to do here. There’s plenty of boutique shopping, art galleries, quaint and stylish mountain villages, stunning golf courses, fabulous beach restaurants and so much more.
Miramar Beach Hotel and Spa is in a setting that feels far away from the hustle and bustle of Cannes, Nice and St. Tropez, but is actually anything from 20 – 45 minutes depending on the particular town, making it an ideal starting point to visit this picturesque region.
We were invited to spend a couple of days at The Miramar Beach Hotel and Spa, ideally situated right on the water’s edge, with a great infinity pool overlooking the scenic little cove where swimming from the rocks was delightful, the sea was just warming up for the Summer and was crystal clear and inviting. We enjoyed a couple of lovely days here, unwinding and celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary, we savoured every minute, drinking in the scenery and the rosé while taking full advantage of the poolside menu from Moya. Moya is the central hub of the hotel, ideally situated by the beach and pool furnished with round tables, stools, benches and comfortable wicker armchairs, but we chose to dine poolside.
Our Deluxe Sea view suite was perfect, the décor sumptuous and romantic, with a private, elegant balcony overlooking that beautiful coastline. The suite included every conceivable necessity and quite a few luxuries as well. The bathroom was large and bright, well designed and luxurious. Our suite included a comfortable sitting area, with a plump settee, but we didn’t use it as the weather was so perfect, any time in the suite was spent either sleeping or relaxing on the terrace. The décor perfectly reflected the vista of the surrounding area.
When not relaxing by the pool or in our suite we were dining in Bistrot M, which is the Tiara Miramar Beach Hotel & Spa’s signature bistro, featuring gastronomical cuisine even at breakfast. Locally sourced, chef-selected freshest of products are prepared with Provençal flair, and presented with artistic aplomb. The restaurant was stylish and elegant perfectly reflecting the fine cuisine. The exquisite mix of southern French cuisine blended with offerings of Spanish tapas and Oriental-style mezzé created a most memorable dining experience, fulfilling the promise of fun, friendly evenings of tasting and sharing… the New Riviera Lifestyle. Rich dark oak wood merges with soft ivory punctuated with a chic shade of fuchsia velvet creating a cosy setting to relax, dine and be amazed by the stunning views over the deep blue Mediterranean Sea.
We had a truly romantic evening in Bistro M, with delicious food in a romantic setting. The next day we sauntered up the hill to the sister hotel to enjoy some fine dining in L’Or Bleu at Tiara Yaktsa a signature Relais & Châteaux restaurant. The restaurant perches at the edge of the hillside, in a prime location overlooking the stunning panoramic view of the bay below. There is without a doubt a change of pace here, it’s sophisticated and genteel atmosphere is a treat, an unforgettable experience of fine dining with silver service and superb food.
Chef Guillaume Anor orchestrates gourmet selections of Mediterranean delicacies and each and every dish was a vision to behold and a treat for the tastebuds.
When we finally finished our lunch we sauntered to the poolside, where there were just a few guests, it was quiet and relaxing, no music playing, this is an adult only hotel, it was so peaceful. The daybeds provided some privacy and shade, and we had little afternoon nap here before strolling five minutes back to our equally beautiful hotel, (there is a shuttle service between the two hotels if needed).
The Miramar Beach Hotel and Spa is situated between two small towns where there are plenty of beach bars and restaurants, lovely unspoilt beaches and uninterrupted Mediterranean ocean views.
If you fancy a little spa time the Sothey’s Spa is a treat, offering a wide variety of expertly conducted treatments. The spa also features a beautiful hammam and authentic Finnish sauna, couples massages are a speciality here in a relaxing and ambient aromatic room, with subdued lighting and soft music. Just another way to recharge your batteries.
When visiting this stunning natural French coastline there are numerous 5 star hotels, but few as well placed and well appointed as this Riviera resort, do not just pass through, stay a while and recharge your batteries.
