More Pi, Please at Pi Pizza!

More Pi, Please.. If you’re looking for delicious pizza, great customer service, and a wonderful atmosphere then look no further than Pi Pizza.
Located on Battersea Rise, just a stones throw from Clapham Common, Pi is the work of first time restauranteur Rosie Whaley.
After working in a Pizzeria in Florence, Rosie was inspired to open her own restaurant that served up delicious food in a vibrant atmosphere and thus the first Pi Pizza was born. After three successful years in Winchester, Pi Pizza has made its way to London and trust me, it does not disappoint… Starting with the restaurant itself, which seats 85 people. It is beautiful.
The first thing you notice when you walk into Pi Pizza is the gorgeous living tree situated in the dining area. It immediately draws you into the restaurant. The beauty doesn’t stop there, though. All the tables are hand carved from fallen oak trees from Salisbury and banquet seats are adorned with lovely Azilal Moroccan rugs hand picked by Rosie, herself.
Adding to the atmosphere is the open plan kitchen that allows guests a glimpse of the eye-catching wood fired pizza ovens.
The separate bar area is just as beautiful and features a gorgeous ceiling installation of dried flowers, giving the room a romantic and feminine feel. Seating for 35 people makes the bar the perfect spot for after work drinks.
Now for the food. Everything from the starters to the desserts is just down right delicious. The pizza dough, which has been perfected by Italian chefs is a secret recipe that involves a 72 hour fermentation process, resulting in a light base and a crispy crust. The perfect combination, if you ask me.
Pizzas come in two different sizes. The first is a 12inch base, which you have the option to do half and half. The other is a 20 inch base to share with the option of having two to three menu choices. Topping choices are both creative and delicious. It’s doubtful that you’ll go wrong with any of them.
As for my personal Pi Pizza experience, I only have positive things to say… Upon walking into the restaurant, I was immediately greeted with friendly smiles from the staff and shown to my table, where I was handed a menu.
To start, I had the mixed bruschetta board, which comes with I.O.W plum tomatoes, porcini cream and wild mushrooms. I also had the cauliflower and old Winchester arancini. Both starters were delicious and something I would definitely order again.
For the main, I went with the 20 inch base and three topping options. When in Pi, after all… The first of the three was Serrano ham, I.O.W plum tomatoes, white truffle oil, and maxima. The second was wild boar salami, red chilli, and piquillo peppers. And finally, the third was Lebanese spiced ground lamb, Turkish yoghurt, and fresh parsley. I opted to top the trio off with a ball of Burrata Pugliese. If you’re a cheese lover like myself, I suggest you do the same! All three options came with just the right amount of everything, making for the most delectable experience.
To satisfy my sweet tooth, I ordered the trio of profiteroles served with a selection of ice creams and warm chocolate sauce. It was the perfect way to end a great dining experience.
It’s worth noting that Pi cater to everyone’s taste with vegetarian and vegan options. They even have a special day to honour our veggie loving friends, Vegan Tuesdays.
So, If you’re in the mood for some delicious pizza served up in a vibrant atmosphere then make your way to Pi Pizza. You will be glad you did.
