Quaglino’s Delicious New Set Menu!

September 11, 2017

For a truly glamorous night out in Central London, look no further than Quaglino’s.  With its famous reputation for hosting many a member of the Royal family over the years, Quaglino’s is the kind of restaurant you can really get dressed up for, while enjoying their brand new and very reasonably priced set menu along with some stunning cocktails.

If you’re booking dinner for a special occasion, then make sure you get a table at the front near the stage because there’s brilliant live music every night while you enjoy dinner against the backdrop of a professional band.

Wild & Beautiful Cocktail

It’s also a brilliant idea to arrive early and arrange to have drinks in the mezzanine bar area because the cocktails really are to-die-for.  The absolute must-have for any Instagram fan is the ‘Wild and Beautiful’.  This gorgeous concoction is a combination of raspberry infused Konik’s Tail vodka shaken up with lemon, vanilla and pineapple and topped up with a touch of fizz.  The most popular choice on the menu, this cocktail demands a photo or two served with marshmallows and a dollop of candy floss on the side of the glass which you can stir in or eat separately for a sumptuous sugary hit.

Cheating Wife Cocktail

Another amazing drink to try is the ‘Cheating Wife’ said to be inspired by Quaglino’s partner’s interest in his beautiful wife which led them to go their separate ways!  With London N1 infused strawberries and marshmallows, beetroot cooked on Tio Pepe and a white raspberry infused Antica formula along with sour cherry, this drink will go down so fast that you’ll need another in no time at all.  Quaglino’s cocktail menu really is something special…

And so to dinner, with the new set menu, an extremely well priced offering – especially for the art-deco grandeur and exceptional service which you can expect every time you visit this wonderful restaurant.  With a range of four starters, we’d definitely suggest you go for the harissa and agave glazed aubergine, with coconut, peanut and pulses.  This Moroccan tasting dish is pretty sensational with the sweet, salt and range of textures all working perfectly together.  The aubergine is beautifully cooked and perfectly balanced with the coconut and peanut – a real delight.

There’s also four mains to choose from including zucchini risotto, and cod with confit pepper, but the dish I’d go back for time and time again is the melt-in-the-mouth slow cooked short rib of beef which comes served with watercress, celery and a rich shallot crumb.  With wilted spinach and pommes frites on the side, this is a filling course, but nonetheless, you’ll want to eat every last morsel of the rich tasting perfectly cooked beef.

Should you have any room left (and you should leave some, because it’s a three course set menu!), then the chocolate marquise with feuillantine makes for a decadent end to a wonderful meal.  Decorated with a gold leaf and a smudge of melted chocolate, this extravagant, rich chocolate dessert tastes even better when paired with one of the gorgeous dessert wines on the drinks menu.

Incredible value at just £33, the three course set menu is available at Quaglino’s now.
