After ten years of delighting clients with gratifying wellness and beauty services at its Kokomlemle branch, Spa 216 recently launched an all-new deluxe Flagship branch at the Palazzo Shopping Center in Dzorwulu, another suburb of Accra. I recently took some time off my crazy schedule to visit this new facility for some much-needed pampering. On arrival, I was greeted with lovely aromas that excited my senses even before the “main event”.

Aromatherapy is a holistic healing treatment that uses natural plant extracts to promote health and well-being. It may promote relaxation and help relieve stress. It has also been used to help treat a wide range of physical and mental conditions, including burns, infections, depression, insomnia, and high blood pressure.

After filling some forms with my personal details and health conditions, I proceeded to wear my robe and kick things off with an Aromatherapy hand and foot treatment. Although I have had many pedicure and manicure treatments in the past, this technique was very different and it smelt pleasantly different too!

Next, I was off to the Sauna; and with soothing music from the likes of Enya, I sweated it all out while keeping hydrated at the same time. Using a dry sauna can leave you feeling invigorated since the blood vessels relax and dilate, there’s an increase in blood circulation and the experience can help reduce tension in the joints and relieve sore muscles. Every minute of my cold shower after the Sauna was delightfully refreshing and relaxing.

Then it was time for Spa 216’s signature “Four hands of bliss massage” also known as Lady Jane’s Massage (named after the CEO). There was a lot of rubbing from the thighs up to the arms and legs, which felt soothing and smooth as one therapist focused on my body while the other worked on my face and head. This was my first facial treatment and massage ever, it was not surprising that my face felt so smooth and fresh afterwards.

Apart from the many first time experiences (yes, including a hot stone massage) at Spa 216, I also loved its relaxing atmosphere, chic and functional interior design, as well as the amazing staff; from the manager to the therapists. Oh and yes, they also serve some tasty treats as well; from Hors d’oeuvres to champagne.
