‘Stay Inspired’ – Explore the City you Love with Conrad Hotel’s Initiative
June 1, 2017
The Conrad brand is for the curious, luxury traveler. Their modern approach, stunning rooms and architecture and ‘live for the moment’ philosophy are encapsulated in their hotels around the world.
With the new Conrad 1/3/5 concept in place, the new ‘Stay Inspired’ initiative has been born out of a passion to take in as much of a city’s culture as you can possibly pack in and so, with the introduction of ‘Stay Inspired’, it’s now also much easier than you thought.
How many times have you checked into a hotel and had absolutely no idea about what to do or where to go? Well, the ‘Stay Inspired’ initiative is there for exactly that reason, so you use every moment to explore local culture, art, food and adventure, in inspiring 1 hour, 3 hour or 5 hour itineraries.
Whilst staying at the Conrad Miami, we were thrilled to be able to experience the Conrad 1/3/5/ concept for ourselves, which you can do either by chatting to concierge, visiting the website, or by downloading the app.
Conrad’s 1/3/5 suggestions for Miami included a visit to the area of Little Havana – the epicentre of Hispanic culture where you kick back with an afternoon cortado (delicious sweet shots of strong espresso with equal shots of milk). In the evenings, grab a mojito and get down to the Cuban beats.
To really experience what Little Havana has to offer, you must check out Ball & Chain bar which has stood the test of time through the American Depression to host legends like Billie Holiday and Nat King Cole. With a delicious Cuban style sharer menu and killer cocktails, you can expect a tonne of live music (they boast 80+ hours of live music a week), and some awesome salsa classes on the dance floor to get everyone involved, along with sexy professional dancers to show you how it’s done properly!
Another of my favourite suggestions from the Conrad 1/3/5 programme was the recommendation to head down to the Design District of Wynwood. Cool and edgy with loads of character and a really great vibe, grab lunch at the Wynwood Kitchen and Bar covered in murals and panoramic canvases, while you knock back the freshest of cocktail concoctions and indulge in the melt-in-the-mouth Braised Short Ribs served with white sweet potato boniato mash, with a rich red wine demi glaze and sweet potato crisps ($16). Sit outside and you can take in the absolutely breathtaking Wynwood Walls – an idea conceived by the late Tony Goldman to cover the warehouse buildings with graffiti art. Celebrated artists now come from all over the world to show their creativity to the world.
Take a graffiti tour with the most passionate men I’ve ever met – Ryan the Wheelbarrow and Pedro ‘AMOS’ who will take you through Wynwood opening your eyes your eyes to graffiti in a whole new light. Owners of Miami’s Best Graffiti Guide, there is nothing these guys don’t know…
We finished off with artisanal donuts from Wynwood’s most popular donut shop with a queue down the street – The Salty Donut. You’ll understand why people are so keen to grab their donuts from here when you taste them – the Key Lime Pie, Maple and Bacon and Nutella were to die for!
Delivering insider advice with local insight on hand, you’ll no longer feel like a stranger in a new city, but like a traveler with a purpose, thanks to Conrad’s influencers who’ve recommended some pretty cool places for you to completely immerse yourself in.
Conrad believes you should never just stay… You should ‘Stay Inspired’.
