STK London offers a Low-lit lounge with white leather booths and a DJ

STK London is renowned as the place to party and I recently headed to this international, popular venue to try out their delicious sounding menu.

STK London is a unique concept that blends the modern steakhouse and chic lounge into one hip package. Located on the Strand inside Me London Hotel, right in the heart of the West End, this was a restaurant which one should definitely dress up for.

Before dinner my friend and I enjoyed a cocktail or two on the infamous rooftop bar on the top floor of the hotel, then made our way to the ground floor where STK is situated.

We could here the pop/r&b music (the likes of Bruno Mars et al) pumping away before even walking through the door.

Once inside the décor at STK cannot help but impress. Having focused on the entire customer experience, the sleek design and purple and indigo hues create a sophisticated and “party” feel. Once past the large bar area my friend and I were seated in a booth with a perfect view of the gorgeous decor, where we could people watch and the place was buzzing and full despite being a Wednesday night.

Some bread was first out and arrived slathered in blue cheese and a herby sauce for dipping. The bread itself was delicious and light and fluffy in texture. It will come as no surprise that STK has high quality beef on the menu, but the short menu is also packed with plenty of delicious sounding non-meat options. Guided by our obliging waiter, my guest and I went for octopus and ceviche to start – a sensibly light way to kick things off considering the direction we were planning to go with our mains.

STK’s take on ceviche is relatively classic. The yellowfin tuna comes on a long slim plate, on a smear of sesame seed pesto and topped with paprika corn chips and thinly sliced radish. The roasted octopus was equally good. Large seared tentacles on a bed of chickpea puree, with a Mediterranean mix of sundried tomatoes and olives.

I opted for the 200g grain-fed fillet steak, while my friend went for it with the 350g rib eye. Both were the finest 28-day custom aged USDA prime beef, chosen for its superior tenderness, juiciness, flavour and fine texture.

The two steaks were excellent and done perfectly to our specifications. Coupled with a seemingly bottomless macaroni cheese and parmesan truffle chips, which were incredibly rich and more-ish.

For dessert, I chose the salty caramel crème brulee served with a gingerbread biscuit. This dish was everything a dessert should be; sweet, sticky and overly indulgent with a hint of spice. My partner chose the apple and maple cake which was served with calvados cream, cinnamon ice cream and maple liquor, and was equally as impressive.

STK also has a range of stunning cocktails of which we sampled a few, including elderflower gimlet and ophelia flame, which were as fun and delicious as they sounded!

STK London is a glamorous menu perfect for impressing on a high-end night out. The venue itself is stunning and the food and drinks add to the trendy vibe and enjoyable experience.

STK London should be on the list for all those looking for a fun night out as you can really let your hair down and party at this cool , cosmopolitan place.
