The Conrad, Miami – A Down Town Hotel That’s Street’s Ahead

June 1, 2017

Set back from the hustle and bustle of downtown Brickell Avenue, lies the ultra cool Conrad Miami Hotel – perfect for the luxury traveler.

Conrad Miami Facade

Its stunning mirrored façade is just a mere teaser of what’s to come once you’re inside.  Saunter past concierge (making a mental note to contact them later for suggestions and activities), you’ll find the lobby and check-in desk are located on the 25th floor set against a stunning back drop of blue sky and endless ocean.

Check-in is swift and you’ll be in your room in no time via the lobby lifts .  If you’re as lucky as I was, you’ll also have those magnificent sea views to wake up to in the morning – throwing back the thick plush curtains is a real joy with such beautiful views!  Freshly baked salted caramel macaroons made my arrival experience all the more sweeter too..

Welcome Macaroons!

Although I was suffering with jet lag after an 11 hour flight, whilst trying to fight against the six hour time difference, I slept soundly in the super snug ample sized bed with big fluffy pillows and efficient air con.  I settled quickly into my room – it’s nice to have a big desk to work on, great wardrobe space and an absolutely huge bathroom with both bath and shower.  The abundance of mirrors and plug sockets added to my contentment.

The Bar at LvL 25

After a swim in the tub, making full use of the complimentary products, I ate a sumptuous breakfast on the outside terrace of LvL 25 which leads into the hotel’s restaurant (I was to be treated to an amazing experience in Atrio that evening..)  The warm air, the gorgeous scenery and an everything-in-it omelette were the perfect start to the day, although you’ll also find the freshest of breads and pastries, fruits and a full cooked breakfast to satisfy the hungriest of tummies.  In the evening, The Bar at LvL 25 is transformed into a buzzy area for the well heeled, with a great value ‘Clicquot Around the Clock’ offer which runs Wednesdays to Fridays.  Veuve Yellow Label bottles are just $50 between 5-6pm which I just had to indulge in of course!  Bottle prices then increase every hour onwards until closing.

After an action-packed day exploring all that exotic Miami had to offer, Atrio Restaurant and Bar was a wonderful evening surprise.  It’s not often that you’ll find a high standard hotel which has a restaurant to match and yet we were staggered by the quality of the food, the presentation of each dish and the vast array of wines to choose from.  There’s even a wine club every night at 5pm to take advantage of!

Conrad Miami Pool

The Conrad boasts a number of top class facilities – perfect for working off all that food.  A roof top pool in the adjoining building gets the sun until late in the evening (there’s even a hot tub for those overcast moments), while the gym is open 24 hours and full equipped with everything you’d need to try and regain that bikini body you arrived with!

The Spa, which is located at The Fitness Centre, offers every kind of massage you can think of.  I indulged in the most relaxing of Swedish massages with frangipani Elemis aromatherapy oils.  The experience included down time in the chill out room, fluffy dressing gowns to pad around in, an exquisite massage with hot towels, scalp and face massage included and changing rooms kitted out with razors, showers, hair products and hair dryers for a truly luxurious couple of hours.

Meanwhile, the Conrad brand’s special ‘Stay Inspired’ concept stays true to their philosophy that traveling is about the journey, not just about the destination you’re visiting.  Conrad 1/3/5 delivers insider advice and local insight whether you’re spending 1, 3, or 5 hours in your city of choice.  We took full advantage of the Conrad Miami’s suggestions which you can read more about here.
