The Ivy Brasserie is an exciting addition to sophisticated St Johns Wood
The IVY set in the heart of St Johns Wood is the ideal restaurant for a stylish dining experience. This was my second time coming to The Ivy St Johns Wood, having visited a few years ago, I was pleasantly surprised to see all the noticeable changes they have made over the years, but not having lost the charm that brought me here all those years back with the style of décor and the outdoor Parisian style street seating.
Being set in the heart of St Johns Wood The IVY is in close proximity to London Zoo, Regents Park and The Lords cricket ground so whatever your plans are for the day it will be a great location for a pre or post meal.
I really like the fact The IVY being so close to the famous Lords cricket ground they have taken inspiration and crafted a cricket season menu, a fitting homage to the historic ground. The menu gives you a variety of options, whether you are a meat eater, vegan or on a healthy diet.
I decided to share this experience with my sister, we both have completely different tastes when it comes to food, but we were both really happy with the options they have to offer.
We decided to order our first drinks and take some time to take pictures around the bar, with IVY’s unique style when it comes to the decor providing the perfect backdrop for some photo ops.
To get the evening going with some starters I decided to order the Crispy Duck Salad and my sister had the Marinated Yellowfin Tuna. Both dishes were served super quick, beautifully presented and of course full of flavour. The contrast of crisp, fatty duck with five spice dressing is revolutionary.
For the main course I went with the Lobster and asparagus, Asparagus spears with lobster, caper, parsley and green chilli butter and my sister went with the Pan-fried beef fillet with braised featherblade, duck liver, wild mushrooms and red wine sauce. The quality of the ingredients really stood out in both dishes and happily we cleared both plates, thoroughly enjoying the food.
Ending a super evening with a special dessert, the LBW dessert, was the highlight, of the night, melting white chocolate cricket ball with blackberries, honeycomb, popping candy and blackberry sauce, literally picture perfect and a fitting way to celebrate the cricket season. You will definitely want to make some space for this dessert, a real treat for your taste buds. A joyful plate of sweet heaven it certainly is!
The IVY St Johns Wood is open seven days a week offering an accessible all-day menu and a great friendly spot to take friends and family for a special treat and an ideal location for a memorable night out with a team who exude passion, creating an unforgettable experience from the moment you step inside to the moment you leave.
