The April Luxuria Lifestyle Hit List has landed! From Songkran celebrations at Mango Tree, to UK Coffee Week at the Bloomsbury Club Bar and Gaucho’s series of events to celebrate World Malbec Day, April is a month of eating and drinking without an Easter Egg in sight!
Songkran at Mango Tree, Belgravia
From Belgravia to Thailand, this April, Mango Tree is transporting guests with a celebration of Thai New Year – Songkran. On the 15th April, there will a special menu on offer along with traditional performances and decorations to immerse, surprise and delight. With drummers to guide guests through the astrological passage of Songkran, along with authentic Thai dancers, there’ll also be a DJ to keep the partying going until late.
Dishes on the night will include Pla mouk yang, an authentic Thai street food dish of flame grilled tender squid served with spicy lime sauce; Geaw kai tod, deep fried quail eggs wrapped in wonton pastry accompanied with Thai sweet chilli sauce; while main dishes will include Kanom jeen nam ya, an authentic Thai fish curry with coconut milk, lime leaves and fish balls served with thin Thai rice noodles and Seua rong hai, grilled slices of tender sirloin beef marinated in Thai herbs. £58 per person.

Celebrate World Malbec Day at Gaucho
With wine at the centre of our world, we’re excited to hear that Gaucho will be celebrating World Malbec Day with wine focussed events between 17th – 23rd April
Immersing guests in all aspects of Argentina’s wine culture and the exclusive malbecs sold at Gaucho, you’ll get to learn the differences the traditional methods of wine-making versus more innovative styles.
Events like ‘A Festival of Malbec’, on 22nd April will allow guests to sample from a selection of 60 wines, while on World Malbec Day (17th April), all 75 of Gaucho’s exclusive malbecs will be sold at Gaucho Wine Shop prices with most wines costing less than half of their usual price. There will also be the chance to buy from a range of Super Malbec Cases from the online shop. On 18th April, there’ll be an exclusive Malbec and Chocolate event for those with a sweet tooth.
Pizza Making Classes at BungaTINI
Tuesday’s are our new fave day! BungaTINI in Covent Garden have started a series of fun filled classes including welcome drink and 90 minutes of pizza making for just £28 per person. Grab all your friends for a slice of the action which includes lessons like the ‘The History of Pizza’, ‘Dough Making’, ‘Dough Throwing’, ‘Pizza Topping’ and of course, ‘Pizza Eating!’ with a complimentary drink and goodie bag. MNKY HSE Sunday Brunch
Don’t give a MNKY about Mondays? Join the brunch party 30th April with a Latin American menu, international DJ sets and live music performers. Signature plates meet season brunch courtesy of Executive Head Chef, Pablo Peñalosa Nájera. Enjoy appetisers including Spicy Shishito Peppers and Trio de Guacamoles along with the option between two starter platters. The ‘Tostadas Platter’ (£29 serving two to three) includes Octopus Chorizo, and Prawn Ceviche, while the ‘Para Taquer Platter’ serves three to four (£65) and includes the Beef Brisket and Cazuela de Hongos Y Queso.
With Glazed Chicken; marinated in spices and served with shishito peppers, Mnky Blk Cod and Giant Tiger Prawns; marinated in soy and coffee sauce along with Beef Tenderloin on the mains menu, there’s also a dessert platter for afters boasting fresh fruit and ice cream (£60). Add unlimited champagne or bloody maria jugs for £25.

Celebrate UK Coffee Week at The Bloomsbury Club Bar
For this week only (10th-6th April), The Bloomsbury Club Bar is celebrating UK Coffee Week by offering up a signature Irish Coffee from the World’s Best Bar – The Dead Rabbit. Exclusively available for just £10, £2 will be donated from each coffee to Project Waterfall, an initiative established to bring clean water and sanitation to coffee growing communities around the world.
Created by Sean Muldoon and Jack McGarry, the Irish coffee combines Whiskey, Irish coffee mix (mixing coffee and rich Demerara sugar syrup in a sous vide) whipped cream and is garnished with nutmeg.
3 course Michelin Quality Champagne Feast For £20 with La Belle Assiette
On 22nd April, guests can enjoy a three course feast for just £20 along with champagne from Nicolas Feuillatte. The only catch is that you have to bring your own plate! Bring your weirdest crockery and some of the UK’s top chefs will work with your plate and dietary requirements to create something totally unique. With La Belle Assiette (the UK’s largest chef service) organising the event at L’Atelier des Chefs, 19 Wigmore Street, there will be two sittings 6.30pm – 8.30pm and 8.30pm to 10.30.

Female Guest Chef Series at J. Sheekey Atlantic Bar
From April – June, J. Sheekey will be hosting a series of evenings with female guest chefs. For one night only on 25th April, you’ll get to experience a delicious dinner from Anna Tobias – named in The Observer Food Monthly’s annual list of 50 trends, people, places and food to look out for in 2017. Cooking alongside Head Chef Andrew McLay, and in keeping with J. Sheekey Atlantic Bar’s signature, family-style sharing plates, each event will offer an insight into the chef’s food philosophy. 7.30pm-10.30pm, £50 per person.
