This month you can go crazy for all manner of concoctions with Cocktails in the City, indulge in a specially created truffle menu at Galvin La Chapelle and get involved in the St Paddy’s Day Seisiún at The Bloomsbury Club Bar, or get colourful with Holi at Cinnamon Kitchen.
Glenfiddich & Quaglino’s Myth & Legend Cocktail List
Quaglino’s – one of the oldest and most glamorous establishments in Central London, has teamed up with the award-winning Scottish whisky Glenfiddich to create some amazing cocktails inspired by myth and legend. Until the end of March, you can try these mouthwatering concoctions dreamt up by an expert team of mixologists, along with some of the delicious and indulgent bar snacks. The mezzanine balcony area is the perfect place to soak up the atmosphere and sophistication of the restaurant below along with live music to lose yourself in.
We’d most definitely recommend the potent ‘Nessie’, – a mix of Glenfiddich 21, Sloe Gin and cacao with a drop of Oak Bitter, impressively presented in a marine glass shell. The ‘Kelpies’ cocktail is equally as good – Glenfiddich 12, apple and lemon juice shaken with pear and homemade pimento dram, along with a drop of Licor 43. The Kelpies tastes amazing with Colchester Island oysters (£4), while the truffle and parmesan arancini balls with watercress alioli (£7) are the highlight of the bar menu. Chipotle marinated rare sirloin (£11) is cooked to perfection and plentiful – no need to order two, there’s more than enough to share.
GŌNG Plays Host to The Clumsies For Four Nights of Signature Cocktails
From 22-25th March for four nights only, GŌNG will be transformed with the first of its Star Bartender nights. The Clumsies from Athens (named the 9th top bar in The World’s 50 Best Bars list), will be the first to host the series of exclusive bar pop-ups. With adventurous, innovative cocktails, Vasilis Kyritsis and Nikos Bakoulis will be serving concoctions from their own Genesis menu alongside new creations like the Infinity (Bourbon, distilled liquid leaven, hazelnut potion, olive), the bitter sweet #Clumsynegroni (Old Tom gin, house blend vermouth, Campari, beeswax and pepper) and the GŌNG Collins (Aged rum, fresh lemon juice, salty honey, apple soda and cucumber bitters.) Go sky-high for spectacular views and a mouthwatering menu, if you’re a cocktail fan, this is one you don’t want to miss…

Rock The Strand at Strand Palace Hotel
Taking place this Thursday 23rd March in the newly refurbished Lounge Bar at The Strand Palace Hotel, you’ll be able to enjoy a night showcasing a range of talented and upcoming artists. The line up this week starts with Natalie Shay at 7.15 whose accolades include The Guardian’s 2015 Music Award and the London Music Award for Best Undiscovered Talent. At 8.30, see 5 piece female-fronted folk/alternative rock band April performing stripped back versions of their songs and at 9.30, former Cutting Crew band member Tony Moore will entertain you.

Play Holi in the City at Cinnamon Kitchen
Cinnamon Kitchen’s #HouseofHOLI is back – bigger, better and brighter than ever! Leave the dull grey City at the door, throw on your white protective suit and step into the madness at the House of HOLI, for 30 minutes of paint pelting.
Cinnamon Kitchen has brought a vibrant injection of colour to the urban environs of the City with the return of its purpose build party pod just outside of Vivek Singh’s modern Indian restaurant in Devonshire Square, now on until the 18th March.
No Indian festival would be complete without a feast of delicious dishes and Cinnamon Kitchen will be getting into the spirit with a vibrant five-course HOLI menu.
A pop up bar will also be serving an array of colourful Holi cocktails which may include the Holika Fire – appleback, fresh lime, homemade grenadine; and the Neela Heera – Broker’s Gin, Maraschino liqueur, Crème Yvette and fresh lemon, alongside Kingfisher beers, the leading Indian beer brand.
Tickets are priced at £8 per person, or £15 per person including authentic Holi bites and either a signature Holi cocktail, a Kingfisher beer or a mocktail. The whole pod can be hired for groups of up to 30 for £400, which will include arrival drinks and nibbles.
The St Patrick’s Day Seisiún at The Bloomsbury Club Bar
On Friday 17th March between 8-11pm, The Dingle Distillery and The Bloomsbury Club Bar will present a whiskey exclusive for St Paddy’s Day with live Irish music, bespoke cocktails, river dancers and an authentic Irish menu featuring Baked West Coast Oysters and Murphy’s Blissful Butterscotch Ice Cream. A range of Irish inspired cocktails will be on offer, while the Dingle Single Malt Whiskey will be exclusively available at The Bloomsbury Club Bar in the UK – the first to emerge from Ireland’s first purpose built distillery (to open) in over 150 years. Craft beers will come courtesy of the Porterhouse Brewing Company, while the menu, available on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th March will include the Burger Anseo (£8), Spring Lamb, and Dingle Truffle Cheese served in a Brioche Bun.
Truffle Dinner at Galvin Bistrot de Luxe
Calling all black truffle fans! Galvin’s Bistro de Luxe is offering diners an amazing four course truffle dinner until 17th March for £75 per person. The exquisite menu will include a series of sensational dishes like the black truffle devilled duck egg, smoked Cumbrian ribeye, bone marrow & sliced truffle and pomme Anna and date; as well as sweet plates of brioche pain perdu, milk & truffle ice cream, hazelnut. What’s more, each dish comes with expertly paired wine too.

Cocktails in the City
Did somebody say cocktail party?! Literally the biggest, is back. Cocktails in the City will be showcasing the world’s best bars, creative bartenders and delicious drinks with their three day cocktail event on the 30th March. Taking place at London’s beautiful One Marylebone, a Grade 2 listed church in central London, you’ll get an immersive, interactive experience with Woodford Reserve hosting a Hygge cocktail takeover, flying over three internationally renowned bars from Oslo, Copenhagen and Stockholm.
