Here at Luxuria Lifestyle, we thought after such a crazy summer, that September might be a little quieter! As if! From Galvin HOP’s rasta pasta night, to OKIEM performing at Quaglino’s, there’s also a whole host of new opening with Spitalfield’s new Wringer & Mangle and the long awaited unveiling of M Bar & Grill in Twickenham. Throw Bunga Bunga’s new Bottomless Brunch into the mix, stir up with Mar-TEA-Ni Jing Afternoon Tea at Melia and knock back a free sherry at Sack for Tio Tuesdays and we’d say you’ve got a pretty busy month!
Gin Masterclass at Rosewood London
From September 30th, The Holborn Dining Room at Rosewood London, will be serving up a gin education masterclass with the perfect introduction to gin. The Gin Journey will indulge guests in an exciting expedition through London’s history, learning how it’s made, how different botanicals create its unique flavour and of course, a sampling of the gins themselves which will change regularly throughout the run of masterclasses.
Being held in the Gin Bar – which stocks London’s largest collection (525 varieties and 20 brands of tonic), Rosewood London’s expert bartenders will be on hand to share their knowledge, while the classes coincide with the launch of a brand new gin-based cocktail menu featuring 16 new cocktails, designed in celebration of gin and its historical ties with London. 6-10 guests in each 90 minute session will get to enjoy a welcome gin and tonic on arrival, as well as delicious bar bites from The Holborn Dining Room’s kitchen. Guests will also receive a take away gift box including mini gins, tonics and garnishes to re-create the perfect drink at home.
Throughout London Design Festival, Exchange Square, Broadgate will play host to Villa Walala. Designed by internationally renowned, East London-based artist Camille Walala, the immersive art installation is a ‘soft-textured building-block castle’ covered with digitally printed patterns. Visitors will be able to engage and interact with the standout, brightly coloured design from 16th – 24th September.
John Lewis Launches The Residence
If you’ve ever wanted to stay the night in a department store, your wish could finally come true. Having just opened this weekend, John Lewis launches the Residence, the UK’s first ever fully-furnished in-store apartment, offering the ultimate try-before-you-buy experience to sleep over and host dinner parties for family and friends.
Fully kitted out, down to food in the fridge and clothes in the wardrobe, the Oxford Street Residence also features a study and indoor terrace overlooking Cavendish Square.
You can apply for a sleepover or to host a dinner party, by visiting the concierge team this weekend and next. Those who aren’t lucky enough to win a sleepover or dinner party can still visit the Residence and take part in daily workshops, free of charge.
BMWi Electric Cinema at Soho and Babington House
BMWi has teamed up with the Soho House Group to offer up a brilliant Electric Cinema Drive-in experience. You’ll get the chance to watch a blockbuster of a movie, with the pure electric car that delivers the drive and exceptional comfort of a BMW, yet producing zero driving emissions.
Park up under the massive 18 metre screen and order food and cocktails which will be delivered direct to your car – all prepared to the Soho House standards you’d expect. All films start at 7pm.

Celebrate London Mezcal Week at The Bloomsbury Club Bar
For London Mezcal Week this week, The Bloomsbury Club Bar is adding 30 varieties of Mezcal to their massive drinks list making it one of the largest collections in Europe! Working with Eduardo Gomez (founder and director of London’s Tequila and Mezcal Festivals), the bar has been transformed into a rustic Mexican Mezcaleria from 11-24th September, offering Mezcals served with citrus fruit and salt. Try the Quiquiriqui,Oaxaca, sweet and peppery, the fruitier Bruxo No. 5, or the Dangerous don Coffee Infused Mezcal for a coffee liquor kick. There’s also a range of cocktails to enjoy including the refreshing Mezcal Martinez or the rich, smoky Megroni. In addition, there’ll be a live panel discussion on ‘The Future of Mezcal’ on Wednesday 13th September 2-4pm.
Mar-Tea-Ni Afternoon Tea At Melia with JING & Dry Martini
JING Tea and Meliá White House near Regent’s Park have teamed up for an eccentric Afternoon Tea experience this autumn. Exclusive to Dry Martini London, specialist teas from JING will include Blackcurrant & Hibiscus, Organic Jade Sword and White Peony and Chai, alongside sweets mixed with drops of their famous martini and lavender, green tea, fruit and plain scones. Served with Devonshire Clotted Cream and mixed berry preserve, there’s also a range of treats available from Chocolate Martini Mousse Éclair to Mango Cheesecake. Savouries include Aubergine on Tomato Brioche, and Lamb and Mint on Charcoal Toast. Dry Martini’s mixologist will also be on hand to recommend a specially mixed cocktail or tea. £30.

M Bar & Grill Opens In Twickenham
M’s Martin Williams and Executive Chef Michael Reid launch the long awaited M Bar & Grill on September 11th along with rugby star Simon Shaw MBE. Located at Brewery Wharf opposite Twickenham Station and open from 11am-11pm daily, the drinking and dining hangout will offer a modern take on pub food classics like the Welsh Rarebit Fondue on Sourdough Toast (£5.95) or The Meat Paffle (£16.50) – a Beef & Onion Pie Sandwich with Shortcrust Pastry and Gravy.
The M Grill giving a nod to classic 70’s grills like The Savoy offer British Beef from Perthshire and Highland Wagyu. Try the Spiced Wagyu Beef Scotch Egg (£7.95) served with a slow cooked Egg Dijonnaisse (£7.95) and from the mains, the Rotisserie Chicken, £13.50 for a half or £27.00 for a full served with Whole Confit Garlic and Brown Butter Emulsion, along with a whole range of rumps, rib-eyes and fillets.
There’s also 20 wines by the glass, an extensive wine list, cocktails and beers, while M Bar & Grill will also offer a home delivery service to the local area, brunch, lunch and Sunday roasts.
Simon Shaw meanwhile, will host an exclusive and unique hospitality experience on Match Days which includes a ‘meet and greet’ champagne reception and post match Wagyu pies with cocktails form £295 with November games on 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th.
34 Mayfair’s Cocktail and Dessert Inspired by their Garden of Beauty Print from Liberty London
Following 34 Mayfair’s brilliant collaboration with House of Creed over the Summer when they created a cocktail and dessert inspired by Creed’s coveted Virgin Island Water scent, this time they’ve chosen to team up with the iconic Liberty London for the store’s first ever restaurant partnership! Covering 34 Mayfair’s South Audley Street awning, the stunning pattern has also inspired both a dessert and cocktail, available to order from Tuesday 19th September. Entitled Garden of Beauty, the print has been inspired by mid 1960’s oriental flowering trail designs, a re-imagined works dating back to the 1920’s created motifs. The cushion will be also be available to purchase at £125 (60 x 60) from both the restaurant and Liberty London online, while the doormen and maître d’ team will welcome guests whilst sporting Garden of Beauty ties and pocket squares.
Dalloway Terrace Afternoon Tea with Bake Off Winner Candice Brown
Dalloway Terrace has teamed up with 2016’s Bake Off winner Candice Brown for a new and delicious Afternoon Tea being served from 11th September. Author of new cookbook ‘Comfort’, Candice has created and exciting gastronomic experience including Feta & Courgette Scone with Thyme Clotted Cream and an Orange & Cardamom Scone. There’s also be Chicken & Chorizo with Tarragon Mayonnaise in a Granary Roll and Leek & Smoked Haddock Tart with Gruyere Cheese, along with Peanut Butter & Jelly Profiteroles alongside Lemon, Half Hitch Gin & Poppy Seed Drizzle Cake. New Wringer & Mangle, Spitalfields Market
Throwing open its doors on 11th September, Wringer & Mangle Spitalfields will offer hearty seasonal food, a lunchtime deli counter, cocktails and bottomless brunch opposite Liverpool Street Station. With all day dining and a downstairs destination night spot, Sundays will offer an all-day roast and bottomless brunchers can enjoy breakast with bottomless prosecco for just £15. Thursdays and Saturdays will host DJ’s and live music with London party people Percolate, while Fridays will see the downstairs bar transformed into Gloria’s house – the perfect party for the weekend with drag queens and plenty of cocktails.
New Bottomless Brunch at Bunga Bunga Covent Garden

Galvin HOP’s #RastaPasta Night
For one night only on Thursday 14th September, Galvin HOP have teamed up First Dates Maître d’, Fred Sirieix for fun reggae fusion food evening along with the Michelin-starred Galvin Brothers. Expect a night full of cool reggae, a whole host of entertainment and dishes including Montego Bay Jerk chicken wings, Ocho Rios run down fish curry, and Jamaican sweet potato pudding. You can enjoy this gorgeous offerings alongside a selection of new Jamaican cocktails including the Jamaican Millionaire – Pineaplle, Amaretto, lemon juice or the Big Bamboo with Orgeat syrup. mandarine liqueur and orange juice.
Quaglino’s Presents Pianist and Composer OKIEM
OKIEM who has been taking the classical world by storm, will be performing at Quaglino’s at Thursday 21st September from 9pm with a whole host of compositions from his debut album XIRO. His ‘cinematic classical’ sound combines piano, orchestral instruments and synthesizers and having toured with some of music’s biggest stars from John Legend to Jessie J, his set is sure to mesmerise with a powerful performance.
OKIEM, the pianist and composer who has taken the classical world by storm is set to perform at iconic London restaurant Quaglino’s on Thursday 21 September at 9pm.
Tio Tuesdays at Sack
Tio Tuesdays at specialist sherry bar Sack are running throughout September as they team up with Tio Pepe to bring a taste of Southern Spain to the city. To coincide with the Jerez Sherry Festival, the first 50 people through the door of Sack each Tuesday night will receive a complimentary glass of Tio Pepe, while guests will be able to try their hand at using a ‘venencia’, taking sherry samples from the barrel, before pouring into a glass from a great height! With a signature disco soundtrack and a rustic feel, September is definitely the month of Sherry. Offer available 12th, 19th and 26th September, doors open at 5pm.
