Who said May was a none event? Summer is on the way and we are getting things started in a big way it seems! From chasing (or rather racing with) Galvin and First Dates’ Fred Sirieux around Park Lane, to new openings Feya and Bar 31 at the Shard, there’s something for everyone! CeCe Peniston at Quaglino’s!
Quaglino’s plays host to a legend on Sunday 20th May, so you can enjoy a delicious three course feast while listening to her belt out all the classics in an intimate set alongside her full band. From favourites like ‘Finally’, to brand new material with her latest release ‘Purple Funk’, tickets for dinner with a cocktail are £70 for standard seating and £100 for premium seating. 9pm – 10.30pm.
NEW OPENING: Feya
Possibly the prettiest Avocado on Toast we’ve ever seen in our lives. Every single Instagrammer will need to get booked in at Feya just off St Christopher’s Place when it opens on the 23rd May. With pretty pastel interiors, and pastries, tarts and cakes to match, the breakfast menu has also been cooked up by food author Virpi Mikkonen.
Spritz and Giggles Pop-Up – Broadgate Circle
Is there a more refreshing drink to have in Summer? Check out the Aperol Spritz beach bar inspired pop-up in Broadgate Circle until August. With a range of cocktails on offer including the Spritz and Giggles take on the Pina Colada (Appleton Estate Signature Blend Rum, Koko Kanu Rum, Pineapple Juice and Coconut Cream), you can also enjoy all the World Cup action on the big screen along with table tennis and foosball.
New Vegetarian Menu at Galvin La Chapelle
Launching just in time for National Vegetarian Week (,14-20 May), the gorgeous Galvin La Chapelle has launched two 7 course Menu Gourmands which have been designed by Chris and Jeff Galvin especially for vegetarian and vegan diners. Menu highlights from the Michelin starred restaurant include Textures of heritage beetroot and raspberry, radish and gingerbread and hazelnuts; Tagine of spring vegetables and couscous with Confit lemon and harissa sauce, and Apple Tarte Tatin with Normandy crème fraîche. £55 per person or £120 with wines chosen by the sommelier.
Plateau’s Big Brass Brunch
Until 9th June, Plateau at Canary Wharf will be bringing you the coolest Big Brass Brunch every other Saturday. With a 10-piece-all-male brass band playing a tonne of crowd pleasing covers, you can enjoy panoramic views and a bottomless offering of two courses for £48 along with Prosecco, or Rosé wine. For feel good vibes with ‘The Old Dirty Brasstards’, you can kick back with friends whilst feasting on dishes like the Spicy Crab with scrambled eggs on toast, or the Big Brass Burger. There’s also a list of awesome cocktails in partnership with Ketel One Vodka including Old Dirty Bramble, the Saxo-tini, the Brassy Mary and the Drum Punch.
NEW OPENING: BAR 31, The Shard
Located on the ground floor of The Shard is the brand new Bar 31, offering locally sourced food at the heart of their food menu, live music on Friday’s and Saturday’s and a craft drinks menu including some delicious and unique beers which have been brewed in the neighbourhood.
With floor to ceiling windows and a relaxed vibe set against a backdrop of visual artwork again created by local artists, Bar 31 is serving up the best of London’s craft beer including Hiver Brewery’s Hiver Blonde honey beer and the dark full-bodied Porter beer from Anspach & Hobday along with local gins and spirits like Jensen’s Old Tom gin produced nearby at the Bermondsey Distillery. Bar 31 is open from 11:00 – 22:00 Monday to Wednesday and from 11:00 – 23:00 Thursday to Saturday. Closed Sundays.
Sauterelle’s Puglia Inspired Menu with Michelin Star Chef Felice Sgarra
For one night only on the 15th May, Sauterelle at the Royal Exchange will be partnering with Michelin star chef Felice Sgarra from renowned restaurant Umami in Andria, Italy, for an exclusive dinner. With a selection of traditional Puglia dishes on offer celebrating recipes which have been passed down the generations, you’ll get to enjoy the ‘octopus, black chickpea, orange, courgette flower & gin’ for main along with fresh ‘ricotta, almond, figs and extra bitter dark chocolate’ for dessert. Tanqueray No. TEN Tea Garden at Yauatcha City
Kicking off on Monday at Yauatcha City, you’ll be feeling super refreshed as the Tanqueray No. TEN Tea Garden launches for summer. With Tanqueray No. TEN’s delicious citrusy botanicals making for the perfect infusions for Yauatcha’s signature teas, there’ll also be a series of gin and tea infusion masterclasses hosted by Hakkasan Group Head of Bar, Eder Neto where guests will learn how to infuse Tanqueray No. TEN gin with varying tea flavours. (Masterclasses are taking place on 26th May, 23rd June and 14th July priced at £60 per person including lunch.)
‘Meadow’ art installation at Pullman London St. Pancras
In honour of the imminent Chelsea Flower Show, the Pullman London St. Pancras is blooming this month with a stunning floral art installation by local artist Anna Garforth. Running until 28th May, you’re invited to step into an avant-garde world of floral delights. There are also two flower pressing workshops for the public and hotel guests on Tuesday 15 May (6.30pm-8.30pm) and Thursday 17 May (6.30pm-8.30pm).
The STK Doughnut for National Doughnut Week
So what if you have to wear a bikini in 6 weeks?! There’s always room for a massive limited edition STK doughnut in our lives! From 12th – 19th May and in aid of National Doughnut Week and the impending Royal Wedding, all proceeds from the limited edition £20 treat go to The Children’s Trust. Weighing in at a whopping 900g with peanut butter and salted caramel-scented custard cream, and cracker jack popcorn, there’s also a crispy, smoked streaky bacon glaze – could it sound ANY sweeter?!
Rooftop Fitness Festival and Brunch at Trafalgar St. James

Dog Friendly Bottomless Brunch at National Theatre
Desperate for a Sunday brunch by the river but don’t want to leave your treasured pooch at home? A-ha! The Green Room at The National Theatre has come up with the perfect solution! A dog-friendly bottomless brunch! Feast on two courses for £32 or three courses for £35 served with unlimited Prosecco or Bloody Marys.
Starter dishes include Bacon mac and cheese fritters and Crushed avocado with poached egg on sourdough toast. Main dishes include Jerk chicken pot pie – with spice roasted corn on the cob and The Green Room burger – with tomato, onion, pickles and Westcombe cheddar. The menu is available Sundays 11.30am–4pm.
Pimm’s No. 6 Partners Paired with Oysters at Wright Brothers
Ahh a match made in heaven! Pimm’s No. 6 has partnered with London seafood experts The Wright Brothers at their sites in Soho, Spitalfields and Battersea to serve the delicious heritage drink with oysters just as creator James Pimm used to. The exclusive pairing can be enjoyed all summer, as well as being honoured as an official serve at The Championships, Wimbledon this year. Prices start from £27 for No.6 and oyster selection.
Galvin Power and Tower Charity Race
Race around Mayfair on 25 May with Michelin-star chef Chris Galvin, and First Dates favourite Maître d’hôtel, Fred Sirieix, to raise funds for youth empowerment charity, Galvin’s Chance. With a 5km run past the Serpentine Lake, racer will have to tackle the underpass on Park Lane and then endure 28 flights of stairs before arriving at the finish line for a Champagne breakfast at the Michelin-starred Galvin at Windows. Registration for the race is at 7.30am at London Hilton on Park Lane and Hyde Park on the 25th of May, and costs £20 per entry. The Harry’s Dolce Vita Summer Terrace
As if Harry’s Dolce Vita isn’t amazing enough (check out the Luxuria Lifestyle review here), a slice of the Italian high life is now available al fresco as the Dolce Vita terrace opens for summer featuring a bright and bold floral installation for Chelsea in Bloom. Summer dishes served on the terrace will include crab and scallop ravioli and chargrilled sea bass fillet with courgette, avocado and pistachio. You can also cool off by sipping on the delightful ‘Sgroppino’ cocktail, blending Limoncello, Proseco and lemon sorbet.
Tanqueray No TEN Citrus Summer Supperclub, Dalloway Terrace
If there’s three things we love in Summer, they have to be: Dalloway Terrace, Tanqueray No. TEN, Supperclubs. Combine all three and you get an event you really don’t want to miss. ‘Take Residence’ Free Run with AJ Odudu
If you’ve been to any or all of our events listed here, you’ll need to burn some calories and we’ve got the perfect thing for that! TV presenter and fitness instructor AJ Odudu will be hosting a free running tour of the London Bridge area on the 23rd May as part of ‘Take Residence’. Departing from Residence Inn, London Bridge, you’ll get to take in some awesome London landmarks like Tower Bridge and Shakespeare’s Globe before being rewarded back at the hotel by a delicious smoothie. Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester’s Lunch Flower Menu
The Chelsea Flower Show has inspired a floral Lunch Flower Menu created by Executive Chef Jean-Philippe Blondet for Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester this May. Highlights from the menu include playful dishes such as the ‘Blossoming Tartlet, tender herb condiment’, the ‘Hereford snails, wild mushrooms, parsley butter’ and the ‘Lemon sole fillet, red & yellow beetroot’, drawing inspiration from spring’s awakening.
