The Simply Perfect The Adria Boutique Hotel
November 21, 2018
The Adria Boutique Hotel, is a boutique hotel that lies in the heart of South Kensington and can quite honestly, only be described as a dream. Myself and my partner were lucky enough to review The Adria Boutique Hotel for the night and I simply cannot even put into words how difficult it was to leave the following day.
The Adria Boutique Hotel is nestled conveniently in one of London’s most prestigious neighbourhoods and is a traditional Victorian townhouse that has been completely revived for the modern-day traveller. The house naturally fuses the charm and grace of a private English residence, which oozes luxury and sophistication.
Personally, I prefer boutique hotels to larger scale ones. The details throughout the hotel and personal touches, the way staff remember your name and have more time to make conversation with you, are things that really make your stay the experience you dream of and beating our short but oh so heavenly sweet time at The Adria Boutique Hotel, will be very tough.
As soon as we stepped out of the taxi, we were greeted and protected from the usual British Autumnal rain by the doormen bearing umbrellas, whilst taking our luggage into the hotel reception for us. On the left-hand side after entering the pillared grand entrance near the reception area was the lounge, where guests were having a coffee and taking time out to read the weekend paper. We were asked to take a seat on the plush armchairs and offered a green juice smoothie as we waited to check-in and be shown to our room. The hotelier was nothing short of an incredibly welcoming and knowledgable lady, who gave us a brief history of the hotel and was ready to help us with anything we needed.
As we were taken up to our room, we noticed that rather than using number buttons inside the lifts for floors, they had the 24 letters of the alphabet, which represented each of the 24 beautiful rooms of the hotel. Each room had been named after an iconic English place or person such as L for Lords Cricket ground and N for Nelson’s Column. The gentleman taking us to our room hit the letter E, we had and wondered what our Elizabeth room had In store for us on the first floor, we were not to be disappointed.
As we entered our room, it felt as though we were in some sort of movie set and were greeted by a huge superking four poster bed, with thick plush cream bedding and a stunning array of soft cosy cushions. The bathroom featured the most beautiful Italian marble, and covered the entire room, creating a modern yet practical feel to it, as for the bath, it was huge. The first thing I did as we were left to enjoy our stay was run a relaxing steamy hot bath, I loved watching the TV from the bath. While I indulged in my bubbly steamy bath my partner was in awe of the powerful waterfall shower. The bathroom alone was a whole superb experience in itself.
The living area was quite frankly the most beautiful living room we had ever seen. We hadn’t experienced such a large and grand suite, we had our own living room with a fire and it was roaring, warming the room and together with two comfy sofas and a mouth-watering mini bar/kitchen area, we were in hotel Heaven.
The beautiful decor of our suite was second to none and had such style that was timeless and so luxurious, spacious and thoughtfully designed.
Although we went out for dinner that evening, we did have the pleasure of the ultimate breakfast experience in the small, quaint and cosy dining room the following morning. If you don’t fancy venturing downstairs and out of your robes, or the comfort of your incredible fourposter bed, all of the hot and cold breakfast options are available for room service or you can enjoy a hot drink in one of their relaxing lounges on the ground floor. The dining room was quiet, probably because it was a Monday morning and we’re lucky enough to call reviewing the hotel for ‘work’, so it was actually just us perusing the menu, while everyone else was at work already.
We sat reading the daily papers, wondering should we have the eggs or the pancakes or would it be frowned upon to have both. Much like the service, our food was of the highest quality, using beautifully tasty produce, hot and delicious. My partner is a bit of a coffee ‘buff’ and he thoroughly enjoyed the freshly brewed coffee, it was the perfect way to start the day for us both.
The restaurant offers 24-hour room service and the menu is inspired by international and Middle Eastern cuisines, using local and seasonal ingredients.
The Adria Boutique Hotel also has a stunning mental and physical wellbeing centre. So as well as being pampered by the staff you will be able to sample the spa, gymnasium and sauna.
Hand on heart, The Adria Boutique Hotel is one of the most beautiful and striking hotels with first class service that we have ever had the opportunity to stay in, we can’t recommend this highly enough, it’s a thoughtful, romantic and totally perfect boutique hotel.
