The World’s Most Luxurious Car Brands
December 13, 2018
There are some car brands that as soon as you say the name people relate it to a luxury lifestyle. Many of these brands provide luxury while still looking cool and it is no wonder that even in the economic climate of the last few years, they still manage to sell expensive vehicles to those that can afford them.
If you’re looking to drive an impressive vehicle that offers comfort and style, these are the brands you should be looking at first and foremost…
Rolls Royce first appeared on the market in 1906, although Rolls Royce Motor Cars Limited is now a wholly owned subsidiary of the German carmaker BMW. The cars made under this name have always been associated with quality and luxury and they last much longer without problems than any other brand. This is attributed to the fact that many of the parts are still handmade. China is its largest market, as luxury cars are really popular in this part of the world.
Bentley Motors was founded in 1919 in North London and is now part of the Volkswagen Group. Over the years, they were joined with Rolls Royce and then split into two companies once more after various sales and acquisitions. They have a larger range than Rolls Royce and have been very successful in historic races such as the Le Mans 24-hour race, which was won in a Bentley four years in succession from 1927 to 1930. As with Rolls Royce, China is its largest market.
Mercedes is another brand name that exudes luxury. Since they were first introduced in 1901 they have always strived to provide luxury vehicles that are of a high standard and durable. As well as cars they also produce vans, trucks and buses, for which high standards are also maintained. You are less likely to see personalised plates on a truck or bus though, even if it is made by Mercedes. Many luxury car owners have them, and after spending so much on a car, putting a private number plate on ones is a very small cost.
Maybach, or to give it its full title now, Mercedes Maybach, take luxury cars to the ultimate extremes. The brand shares a significant number of its components with Mercedes, but it produces ultra-luxury editions of the cars. It was proving difficult for it to succeed as a stand-alone brand, but since it has become part of the Mercedes brand sales have risen dramatically. They have made several concept cars that have been on display at various motor shows, the latest one being a large 2-door coupe with a fully electric drivetrain.
Other Brands to Consider
There are many other expensive car brands but some of them are more associated with speed rather than luxury. Names such as Ferrari, Porsche and Maserati are often related in the mind with car racing. Then, of course, there are the brands like BMW, Range Rover, Audi, McLaren, Lexus, Jaguar, Alfa Romeo, Lotus and Cadillac that are all at the higher end of the car market, but not quite as luxurious as the ones mentioned above.
Cars on one thing that people will always spend money on and this has been proved with the increases in sales even though the world money markets have not fully recovered from the last recession.
