Vila Vita Parc, 11/10 according to Luxuria Lifestyle
Sophistication abounds here, the 54 acres of subtropical perfectly manicure gardens are just the start, as you arrive at this superb award winning ‘all singing all dancing resort’ you will be greeted with a welcome drink on the terrace, overlooking these stunning grounds. Relax on the terrace in huge luxurious cornflower blue and white chairs, sipping a cocktail while taking in the flower-filled parkland and the azure blue sea and beach, in the not too far distance.
The rooms and suites are all thoughtfully designed with balconies overlooking the sea or the gardens. We were lucky enough to be staying in a newly renovated hi tech white washed suite, with a huge rooftop terrace that included comfortable sun loungers and a dining table and chairs, perfect for that evening pre dinner cocktail. There are a few stunning villas with private pools too, perfect for families or groups.
No matter which room category is chosen, guests can expect a sophisticated, refined air of luxury as well as modern conveniences such as bluetooth speakers, LCD TVs and complimentary Wi-Fi access, and there are numerous other facilities and goodies to ensure your stay is of the utmost comfort.
We had a short extremely early morning flight from London and arrived ready to experience all that this superb resort had to offer. We started at the poolside, on a daybed in the pool, surrounded by truly beautiful people, our fellow guests were chic and stylish, fitting perfectly in with the sumptuous yet relaxed pool area. We were tired so had a little snooze in the sun and when fully refreshed ordered a jug of Prosecco sangria and some poolside snacks, delicious!
The beach club was equally as perfect, a few steps down to the white sandy beach, with clear blue sea, thick comfy sun loungers, towels and bar service, we spent the last few hours of the evening here, relaxing and listening to the lapping waves.
We eventually and rather regretfully left the beach to dress for dinner and take full advantage of our stunning suite, as always we enjoyed a pre dinner cocktail on our terrace, caught up on a few emails and then sauntered down to the Ocean Restaurant, overlooking the pool and beach. Ocean offers the perfect combination of sublime food, seamless service and an atmosphere of casual elegance, and has held two Michelin stars since 2011 – a tribute to Hans Neuner and his team. The decor, based on a palette of blue and golden shades is the reflection of a peaceful seaside scenery, and the magnificent corals which fill up one of its side walls, as well as the Murano crystals resembling medusas by the entrance, are a clear clue to the inspiration behind Ocean’s new image, entirely renovated in 2016.
Breakfast is taken in Bela Vita Restaurant and is spectacular, it offers everything from homemade breads, detox juices, super-foods, fresh seasonal fruits, homemade sausages and cold meats from Herdade dos Grous – VILA VITA Parc’s farm in Alentejo, setting you up for the days activities.
The other restaurants include an authentic Japanese restaurant and a quaint Italian, coffee shops, ice cream parlours and several bars. There’s an impressive wine cellar, a parade of gorgeous boutiques, a gym and a state of the art spa using Sisley products.
The rooms, suites, spa and restaurants are linked by beautiful walkways, but there is a buggy service if you feel the need for a lift, we used this several time as the typically Portuguese pathways were not conducive to heels!
We enjoyed a very special few days here, the pool and beach are just the most special and scenic spots to relax, the restaurants are all fine dining and offer a fabulous choice of dining. The spa and gym are a most wonderful way to spend some lovely hours.
