From the moment we stepped aboard our Viva Cruises on the beautiful new Viva Enjoy, we knew we were in for something extraordinary. The sleek, contemporary design of the ship we were met with a design masterpiece, which set the tone for the journey ahead. For seven unforgettable nights, we sailed in superb style and comfort through the waterways of the Netherlands and Belgium. Although not all of the routes were scenic, very industrial in parts, it was still very interesting; we had no idea exactly how expansive the waterways were. We became immersed in a world of refined luxury, attentive service, and immersive cultural discovery.

Stylish Luxury at Every Turn

Our suite was a true haven, a sanctuary of modern design and thoughtful details. The décor mixed contemporary style with cosy elegance, creating an atmosphere that felt homely. The suite was cleverly designed to create a feeling of space, which we appreciated. The layout was smart with calming neutral tones, which made settling in feel effortless. The large, double-opening French balcony doors became our favourite feature, letting in fresh air, sunlight, and sweeping river views at any time of day.

The bed was cloud-soft, the luxury bed linens ensured restful nights, and the bathroom was impressively spacious, featuring a rainfall shower, fluffy towels, and Rituals toiletries. Every evening, returning to our suite felt like coming home to a boutique hotel that just happened to float along the waterways of Belgium and the Netherlands.

Exceptional Dining in All Three Restaurants

Dining aboard Viva Enjoy was a true celebration. With three distinctive restaurants, we enjoyed a new dining experience each day. Whether it was a casual breakfast in the Riverside restaurant, a more formal multi-course dinner in Moments, or a relaxed lunch at Viva’s Bistro, the food was consistently outstanding.

Each meal was thoughtfully created, with menus reflecting local and seasonal ingredients. We enjoyed regional specialities like Belgian moules-frites, Dutch cheeses, and delicate flavoursome desserts,  all plated artistically. The chefs took pride in their craft, and the service team were attentive, knowledgeable, and always happy to recommend the perfect wine pairing.

The all-inclusive drinks package was the cherry on top. Whether we wanted a crisp Sauvignon Blanc, a hand-shaken cocktail, or a rich espresso after dinner, it was all included, generously poured, and expertly served.

Immersive Cultural Excursions

Each day brought a new destination, and the excursions were as varied as they were exciting. From major cities to hidden gems, every stop offered something different.

In Amsterdam, we joined a deeply moving tour of the Anne Frank House, which left a lasting impression, followed by a fascinating visit to the Van Gogh Museum, where we stood in awe before his vibrant, emotional masterpieces.

Rotterdam’s modern skyline contrasted beautifully with the medieval charm of Ghent, where narrow cobbled streets and Gothic architecture transported us back in time. Antwerp, with its lively energy, grand square, and rich art history, was a standout. There was a definite buzz about these Belgian cities, with great cafés, restaurants, wine bars and quaint boutiques. The vibe was relaxed and edgy; the people in Belgium had a bold, fashion-forward style.

Middelburg and Veere offered a more tranquil, small-town charm, perfect for leisurely walks and quiet exploration, while Gorinchem, our final and arguably most picturesque stop, stole our hearts with its picture-book beauty. Strolling along its old tree-lined streets felt like stepping into a painting, and we enjoyed a fabulous lunch on the water’s edge of locally caught fish.

Every tour was led by passionate, knowledgeable local guides who made history come alive with their storytelling and humour.

An Enchanting Evening on the Canals

One of the most magical moments came during a one-hour scenic cocktail cruise through the canals of Amsterdam. As we drifted through the city’s maze of waterways, the historic architecture was illuminated by soft, flickering lights. Sipping our cocktails, we glided past gabled houses, charming bridges, and quiet corners of the city, accompanied by interesting commentary that offered glimpses into Amsterdam’s daily life. It was romantic, unforgettable, and a highlight of the journey.

Superb Hospitality and Entertainment

The staff on board Viva Enjoy truly made the experience exceptional. From the housekeeping team who kept our suite pristine, to the restaurant servers who remembered our preferences, to the cruise director who ensured every detail was flawless, the service felt effortless, heartfelt, and personal.

Evenings on board were equally well thought out. The onboard entertainment included a talented vocalist and pianist duo, performing a different genre of music each night, from smooth jazz to pop classics to elegant ballads. Whether we chose to dance, sing along, or simply relax with a nightcap, it was a perfect way to end the day.

This Viva Cruises wasn’t just a trip; it was a beautifully designed experience that seamlessly blended comfort, discovery, and indulgence. Whether you’re a seasoned cruiser or a first-timer, the Viva Enjoy offers an elegant, all-inclusive way to explore the heart of Europe.

We returned home feeling not only relaxed and inspired, but also profoundly grateful for the memories made and the people we met. Without hesitation, we are already planning our next voyage with Viva Cruises, and we know it will be just as magical.
