Anantara Iko Mauritius: Expands Spice Spoons into a Full Mauritian Culinary Journey
Market discovery, street-side tastings, and a hands-on masterclass with resort chefs.
Le Chaland, Mauritius, 3 October 2025: Anantara Iko Mauritius Resort & Villas invites guests to taste Mauritius from source to plate. The Spice Spoons journey begins at a local market with a chef-led walk, continues with tastings of street favourites, then returns to the resort for a hands-on class and a shared lunch featuring the dishes created.
Celebrating Creole heritage and seasonal island produce under the Be Lokal pillar, the experience supports small vendors while giving guests practical skills they can bring home, including recipe cards and kitchen tips for replicating flavours with accessible ingredients. “Markets are where a place speaks most clearly. Guests meet the people behind the produce, learn how to choose spices, and then cook with confidence back at the resort’s kitchen studio,” said Daniel Méndez, General Manager, Anantara Iko Mauritius Resort & Villas.
