New ‘Chronomat and Navitimer’ collections are now available.

Swiss luxury watchmaker, Breitling, has opened its new retail concept in Sandton City Shopping Centre, Johannesburg.

Located on the upper level of the mall in the popular ‘diamond-walk’ wing – part of the multiple award-winning shopping centres and home to many luxury brands − the new boutique is Breitling’s latest retail space to feature the brand’s unique design concept – a contemporary urban interpretation of an industrial loft.

Commenting on the opening, Breitling CEO Georges Kern said, “We are thrilled to be opening the first newly-designed boutique in South Africa. Our new approach blends modern design with inspiration from the brand’s rich heritage and its ties to aviation. With the opening comes the arrival of our latest collections, including the all-purpose Chronomat and Navitimer 35, designed for women of style, action, and purpose.”

Breitling has a strong presence in South Africa has been in the region for a number of decades. On a local level Breitling is a proud partner of Qhubeka, which has supplied more than 75 000 bicycles to underprivileged children, thereby enabling them to reach their schools far more quickly and easily, with measurable improvements in attendance and results.”

Breitling’s new 35m² boutique is a contemporary urban interpretation of an industrial loft in a dynamic city. The design of the boutique is inspired by a mid-twentieth-century industrial building as a nod to a time when the brand’s timepieces and intelligent measuring tools earned Breitling a formidable reputation. Unique artefacts such as aircraft propellers, a vintage Bentley sports car and bespoke furniture vividly bring to life the brand worlds of ‘land, sea and air’.

The new boutique is home to the entire Breitling range of timepieces, including the brand-new Superocean Heritage 57’ Capsule Collection and the Navitimer and Chronomat collections.
