How star signs can affect your relationship

Alongside having children and buying a house, getting married is one of the major commitments you can make in life. Around the start of World War II, there were well over half a million marriages in the UK. But since the early 1970s, those numbers have steadily declined, to approximately 270,000 in 2018.

Everyone is different, of course, and many couples are perfectly happy as they are – without feeling the need to tie the knot. And with the cost of living on the rise, it’s perfectly understandable why so many are deciding against organising a wedding and all the expense that it can involve.

But if you are looking for the perfect partner, how are you going to find that special someone? Some swear by the signs of the Zodiac to make sure they pair up with the right person. So, how can astrology impact your relationship? Read on to find out more.

What do the numbers say?

Jewellery experts F.Hinds conducted a survey of 2,000 UK adults to gain some insight into how much importance they placed on star signs and their relationships. These were the headline results:
• More than one-in-five (21%) search for specific star signs in p#ossible partners.
• Nearly three-in-five (59%) of millennials believe the Zodiac has an effect on their chances of romance.
• Almost one-in-six (14%) narrow down their potential partners due to compatible signs.

Compatibility

Expert astrologers believe that certain signs are more compatible with others. For example, a Libra is a strong match for a Leo or an Aries, while a Capricorn is more likely to find a harmonious union with a Pisces or a Virgo. If you’re Scorpio and you’re looking for love then you might want to try and seek out a Taurus or a Cancer and any Geminis might be happiest with an Aquarius or a Sagittarius.

Choosing the right engagement ring

There’s a lot of pressure on finding the right engagement ring. A natural diamond ring might be the best choice for those who prefer a classic piece, such as a Cancer, Taurus, Virgo or a Capricorn, but everyone’s tastes are different. The likes of Aries, Libra, Gemini or Scorpio would prefer something bolder, so it pays to know your audience before you head to the jewellers.

Getting the proposal right

Are you a fan of the grand gesture? Or a quiet question asked in the comfort of your own home? The most important thing is to do what’s going to mean more to you both, but if you’re thinking about settling down with a Leo, Sagittarius or a Pisces be prepared that they may only drop subtle hints about wanting to be asked, so you might have to be bold and just go for it!
