Ibiza – The Alessia Mainardi Project

Italian Interior Designer, Alessia Mainardi, was born and raised in Milan, the furniture capital of the world. It was there that she, from an early age, connected with interior design. Her clients love her sense of Italian style and her natural ability to create bespoke and unique pieces for their homes. “We aim to deliver timeless, sophisticated interiors, elegance never goes out of fashion.” – Alessia Mainardi.

Creating homes with ambience and bespoke luxury, evolved from studying Jewellery Design at IED Milan and then graduating from the School of Interior Design at KLC London. Alessia Mainardi has a passion for design and meticulous attention for detail.

Alessia has created interiors across the finest address codes internationally from Kensington, Notting Hill, Primrose Hill, Ibiza and Verbier.

Our interiors are mostly bespoke, our furnishings are designed specifically for our client’s homes. We also collaborate with exclusive and specialised brands that we select for their philosophy, quality and design. We only work with the best artisans especially from Italy, who are committed to exquisite workmanship in time-honoured fashion, allowing us to create truly unique artistic spaces for each individual client.

“Our clients are my biggest source of inspiration. London is such a melting pot of cultures, experiences, and ideas. I work with clients from all over the world, some have homes in various countries. From my time in travel, I am fascinated by different cultures and I always try to combine my knowledge and personal style with my client’s dreams, philosophy, and aesthetics.”

Ibiza Project

Alessia Mainardi’s client bought a plot of land in Ibiza.
Alessia Mainardi, designed two of the projects Las Candelas and Can Baloo.
The brief for both homes was to create a home celebrating the unspoiled spirit of Ibiza. Alessia Mainardi, travelled the world to source furnishings for this home, shopping at Maison Et Objet and Milano Salone del Mobile. These Ibiza projects are contemporary design with an ethnic touch.
Both Living Areas are formal and designed for entertaining.
Inviting round sofas designed for socialising created by the PH Collections.
The Berbere rugs by Le Nouvel Atlas finish off these places beautifully.

“The client is a busy individual, who wanted to be hands-on. We spent so much time working together, we would spend entire weeks in Ibiza mixing work and socialising, I had an amazing time working with him. Here is the lounge bar we designed together…” – Alessia Mainardi

Kitchens embracing natural materials

The Las Candelas kitchen is more rustic in style inspired by the spirit of Ibiza, natural woods, neutrals complemented by rustic style crockery and colourful art-work.

A bespoke Italian kitchen by Modulnova, with Gaggenau appliances. The banquet seat snack area is sustainable and built from reclaimed wood, the perfect space to maximise space in a kitchen and add glamour.

The Can Baloo kitchen is more ‘stylized rustic-luxe,’ we used another Italian style designed kitchen creator, Binova, with Gaggenau appliances and travertine marble.

Loafing bedrooms

Luxury home comforts and more

Bedrooms designed to move to be slow with the Balearic beat, every bed is king-size with en-suite bathroom.
Some of the bedrooms even have outdoor showering, with one lucky guest enjoying an outdoor stone bath-tub imported from Bali.

Best of all, fusing fine design with tech, we personally designed with an Italian bed artisan to integrates TV’s into the design of the beds.

Bedrooms designed for the ultimate lazy mornings every day, or to stay comforted in the Ibiza rain…

Ibiza beach vibe bathrooms

Inspired by the sandy coves, rocks and sand of the Ibiza beaches. We played with natural marble and wood materials to create bohemian luxe sanctuaries in both Las Candelas and Can Baloo.

Bathrooms are sanctuaries of the home, a place to relax and cocoon away from the world. The bathrooms we designed in Ibiza are unique, relaxing and a luxe complement to Ibiza. We love to play with natural materials and neutral colours.

Marble bath sculpture

A suspended marble bath-tub hand-carved from a block of marble by Kreoo is a hero focal point to this bathroom. Bathing in marble brings you at one with mother nature, a natural earth material and super soothing.

Rustic elements of natural wood accessories capture the spirit of Ibiza perfectly here. We brought nature in with plants indoors.

Eclectic pergola design

The pergola at Can Baloo is a ‘wow’ factor of the house and everyone just loves to sit there. The idea came from being inspired by a stand at Maison Et Objet. “I have a creative friend from Milan who lives on the White Isle, a real eccentric and true artist. Someone who would stay at your house during the lockdown and paint all the walls with the finest scenes of chinoiserie. We trusted this talent with no sense of reality, gave him the material and he installed the pergola and it truly embraces the crazy spirit of Ibiza” – Alessia Mainardi.

Designing in a home in a different country brings a whole range of logistically issues with it. Ibiza is an island where many shipments arriving do not go as planned.

The Spanish work ethic can be different, they always say “manana” (tomorrow or never). It’s quite common to make appointments with tradesmen and stores that simply do not turn up…

Especially during the summer season!
