What are the challenges for you personally in the day-to-day running as GM of Amari Raaya?

In general, the GM of a Maldivian resort island needs to navigate many challenges while maintaining a high level of service and creating an unforgettable experience for guests. Adaptability, strong leadership, and a deep understanding of both the hospitality industry and the unique aspects of the location are key to success.

You need to be versatile and skilled in handling a wide range of responsibilities to ensure the overall success of the resort. Effective communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills are crucial for addressing challenges and creating a positive guest experience.

All of this while being on a remote island, requires a good set of experienced skills and confidence, a positive attitude and a “Yes we can” approach.

In a nutshell, you need to walk the talk in order to be an effective leader and to inspire your team for excellency in everything they do. By being an approachable Manager, you must be able to instill the true spirit of hospitality in your team which is – service from the heart! This will guarantee the best level of services for our guests.

We have been thrilled with the response since our opening in August 2023. The launch of Amari Raaya Maldives has been very well-received both locally and internationally, and we look forward to building on this momentum welcoming new and returning guests in the months and years ahead.
