Luxuria’s Beth reviews: Leven Manchesterwhere living is easy
Tucked away on Chorlton Street in the heart of Manchester, LEVEN feels like a place made for living, not just staying. From the moment we opened the door to our Living Space room, it felt like home – if home came with the finest details, massive windows, and the kind of natural light that makes you want to kick off your shoes and stay a while.
Our little boy absolutely loved it. The studio-style room had so much space for him to run around and explore – no cramped corners here. The playful energy of the space perfectly matched the city’s vibe outside: lively, creative, a little industrial, but oh-so-inviting.
And the amenities? LEVEN has truly thought of everything. There’s a well-stocked mini bar with proper treats (not just the usual crisps), a selection of great snacks, and a kitchen area that’s big enough to actually use. We’re talking sleek countertops, a dishwasher, a fridge, and even a marble-topped dining table-for-two – perfect for cocktails and conversation once the little one was asleep.
The layout feels like an elegant city apartment: a separate bedroom and sitting room, each with its own personality, but tied together by gorgeous design details – brushed brass fittings, textured fabrics, and curated artwork that gives it all a quietly luxurious feel.
And then, the Porcelanosa deep bath, luxuriously placed right in the bedroom. There’s something wonderfully indulgent about running a bath, watching the city lights flicker through those tall windows, and simply unwinding. The bathroom, too, is beautifully appointed, complete with a separate power shower that delivers a perfect morning wake-up.
The furnishing inside the studio was spot-on: soft, earthy tones paired with exposed brick, stylish lighting, and plush textures. Those huge windows framed the city perfectly, catching every bit of the Manchester glow (yes, even on cloudy days). It’s the kind of space that feels both urban and calm – a rare combination.
That evening, we stayed in and ordered in-room dining from MAYA, the restaurant located right inside the same building. MAYA stretches from a canal-side brasserie space – serving modern European classics with a laid-back charm – down to an elegantly designed lower ground-floor dining room centred around an ingredient-led, locally sourced, and seasonal menu. The connection between hotel and restaurant is seamless: our cocktails arrived first (a classic Strawberry daiquiri for me), followed by beautifully plated dishes that were every bit as refined as the surroundings. It felt like dining out, without ever leaving our cozy LEVEN hideaway.
The next morning, we wandered downstairs for breakfast, greeted by the familiar hum of the LEVEN lobby and lounge. Decaf flat white with oat milk? Check. Croissant? Check. Whether you want a quiet coffee or another cocktail (because why not?), the lobby has you covered. It’s stylish without trying too hard – the kind of place where everyone seems to be in a good mood.
LEVEN’s tagline is “Live life.” And truly, that’s what it delivers. Thoughtful, stylish, and full of light, the Living Space room makes you feel like you’ve found your own private slice of Manchester – complete with one of the city’s most exciting dining spots just downstairs.
