‘Masala Zone Piccadilly Circus: Grand Brasserie in London’s West End

The latest opening of Masala Zone, the much-loved pan-Indian restaurant collection, has seen the legendary Criterion site transformed into a dazzling Grand Brasserie with breathtaking interiors.

Open for both lunch and dinner, Masala Zone Piccadilly Circus offers the authentic taste of India any time of the day. Subtle spicing, with spices specially sourced from the best spice farms in India, and profound flavours lie at the heart of Masala Zone dishes. These use historic recipes from gourmet homes and generations of India’s street food masters across the entire country.

Expect an unrivalled array of 18 showstopping grazing dishes to choose from. Favourites that feature from the street stalls across India’s regions include many reinvented dishes such as Madras Chicken 65, Bombay Samosa Chaat, Goan Spiced Crab Cakes, as well as the well-known Lucknow Dahi Puri, Jaipur Gol Guppa Pops and Bombay Vada Pao Sliders (with fresh home-baked pao bread).

Another set-apart cornerstone is the Thali through which to enjoy the comforting tastes of home. An explosion of tastes, spectacularly served on a stainless-steel platter. Each irresistible little dish adds its own magic to a perfectly balanced, nutritious meal.

The curries map a mouth-watering journey across India’s diverse regional cuisines. Each is crafted with local knowledge and love for its individual traditions, to preserve its deliciously distinct character. Examples are Chicken Mangalore, Alleppey Prawn Curry and Maratha Bhajia Curry, as well as the traditional favourites of Delhi Butter Chicken and Kashmiri Rogan Josh

Prepare to be blown over by the spectacular Grand Brasserie design, which complements the building’s historic interiors. The restaurant has been made into a Maharaja’s dining room with bronze screens, stunning decorative lights from Indian palaces, antique Indian artefacts, and contemporary Indian paintings. This is complemented with a vibrant colour scheme of deep purples and striking greens. It is capped off with a luminous LED red marble bar.

Alongside an array of classic cocktails that have been given a Masala Zone twist, such as chai-infused Negronis and rose and cardamom-infused almond sours, Masala Zone Piccadilly Circus has a list of wines that flatter the range of spices within the menu, alongside a classic selection of beers.

In the afternoons, the restaurant offers an exciting and unique Masala High Chai, which combines the best of Indian & British teatime offerings. A delectable selection of Indian savoury tea-time bits, sandwiches with a touch of spice, and Indian sweets.

For groups celebrating special occasions, the restaurant’s stylish curtained-off party area is perfect for social or business get-togethers. Expect personalised service, exciting menus and specially chosen wines and exotic cocktails.
