Picnic perfection with Maison d’Entremets
Sergei Zhogota is the founder of Maison d’Entremets and he has been in the food industry learning and experimenting with different cuisines from around the world. He now wants to provide some of the most fabulous and fresh flavours straight to your door. His passion is to provide an excellent service, using the best produce he can source globally.
We have been picnicking throughout the lockdowns, when we’re allowed to of course and we’re sick to death of cheese and pickle sandwiches, pork pies and crisps. So when Sergei offered us the chance to try one of his hampers we were thrilled.
I have all manner of picnic paraphinalia and have become quite the expert at packing a half decent lunch, but that’s exactly what it has become, half decent!. Now though I know exactly what was missing, taste, flavour and freshness, something different, this is how the hamper that was delivered at exactly the time requested ensured we would not be disappointed, it fulfilled all of our culinary desires.
The hamper was delivered on a Saturday just in time for a very special day we had booked in a friends garden for a virtual Ascot Race day.
The hamper included two smoked salmon patés with horseradish, capers and cream cheese, two avocado guacamole dips with white truffle oil and fresh cucumber, two cream cheese mousse jars with hazelnut paste and raspberries, a jar of chicken liver paté, a jar of duck liver paté, one l’Ancienne sourdough baguette, one sourdough pave d’Antan, both loaves are traditional French bread, light and crusty and finally four slices of New York mandarin cheesecake which we topped up with some English raspberries. Plenty for four of us.
All three patés were absolutely delicious and with a little butter and thickly spread on the sourdough bread, were a total treat. They were smooth and flavoursome, my personal favourite was the chicken liver paté. The avocado dips were fresh and went perfectly on our crackers with a slice of tomato, as was the cream cheese mousse, topped up with a thin slice of cucumber. The whole picnic experience was really rather special and our day could not have been more memorable, due in part to the exquisite food.
We were also treated to some signature spreads. The peanut cream that comes as a spread in a jar is rich, creamy and smooth and works beautifully on a waffle and the rich chocolate peanut cream incorporates a hint of chocolate that we truly loved, the combination of chocolate and peanut melts in your mouth, again perfect on a crumpet or waffle.
Delivery options are versatile but it depends on where you are, it’s best to make enquiries through the website here.

The menu changes weekly, taking into consideration the seasons and availability to ensure the most fresh ingredients are used. You may also want to top up your hamper with a bottle of wine to perfectly pair with you feast.
We enjoyed each and every item included in our hamper and would not hesitate to use the services of Maison d’Entremets again, our picnics are now on a different level!
