The Clinic Holland Park – A one-stop destination that is stylish and private

With a risk of repeating myself, due diligence is of paramount important when embarking on any kind of non-invasive or invasive procedure, whether it be a full-on facelift, a touch of Botox and filler or even a dental procedure. I would never allow anyone near my face without checking out the practitioner and clinic credentials, insurance, safety checks, the website, reviews and industry awards.

The Clinic Holland Park, London, ticked all of the above boxes, the clinic is impressively large and complies with all health and safety and Quality Care Commission certifications. The clinic is classed as a ‘super-clinic’ where high-end cosmetic surgery, dermatology,  private healthcare, advanced hormone treatments, self-care treatments and multiple well-being therapies is carried out.

There are four private consultation rooms; and two purpose-built, state-of-the-art theatres on site, where The Clinic’s founder – Oculoplastic Surgeon Richard Scawn – performs his signature ‘immaculate’ blepharoplasties.

The Holland Park team is comprised of an array of industry experts: Richard Scawn heads up the consultancy team,  Medical Aesthetics Lead is Jenny Doyle; Hormone Specialist and Private GP Dr Jag Acharya; Facial Rejuvenation Specialist Dr Yoshimi DeLeon; Hair Restoration Specialist Sofia Baig; Nutritionist and Lifestyle Consultant Yvonne Wake; Eyelash and Eyebrow Specialist Jin Kim; and Facial and Skincare Specialist Emma Brown.

These specialists will often use their unique skills and combined experience to create the most concise and rewarding results.

The list of treatments carried out in the clinic is remarkable, from general ophthalmology, oculoplastics, and all manner of beauty and medical-grade aesthetic procedures.

I was invited to meet the Aesthetics Lead Jenny Doyle who administered some filler to my thinning lips. I was not looking for plumped-up sexy-looking lips, more a healthy hydrated and slightly more defined appearance,  more youthful hopefully.

Following an easy but thorough consultation to ensure I was an appropriate client, and some very professional-looking photos taken, a numbing gel was added, which took effect almost immediately, therefor I felt nearly nothing, one or two tiny pinpricks. Jenny began by gently adding some FDA-approved, hyaluronic-acid-based fillers to the vermillion border to kick it out a little and create a more pronounced lip edge, she then added some filler to the body of my top and bottom lips to add a little volume and hydration, 0.8ml was used. Jenny took a lot of time to ensure she rebalanced my ever-so-slightly wonky lips, one side was a little more full than the other. Hyaluronic acid dermal filler is not permanent and will naturally break down over time; meaning that your treatment can be tweaked over time to give you great natural results.

My results: Perfectly balanced, more defined, slightly more plump and youthful lips. There was no downtime for me, that’s not to say some may experience a little swelling or even a tiny bruise or two, I had neither swelling nor bruising, they looked perfect from the moment I left the clinic, and will do for at least six months.

My confidence has grown, my lipstick goes on and stays better and this, in turn, improves the appearance of my whole face, I smile more!
