Visit Antigua & Barbuda – The heart of the Carribean

At the heart of the Caribbean, a secret paradise awaits you in Antigua and Barbuda where world-class hospitality comes with boundless natural beauty.

Come and discover “Your Space in the Sun,” with 365 beautiful white sand beaches (one for every day of the year), there is plenty to see and do both on land and in the water. There are lots of water-based activities for the water-lovers to engage in, whether it’s swimming with stingrays for the adventurous, a romantic sunset catamaran, or an exhilarating jet-ski adventure.

For the landlubbers, historic walking tours through St. John’s City and the UNESCO World Heritage Site in English Harbour and off-road island safaris are a fascinating experience. A horseback ride on the beach or a zipline through the rainforest are just some of the other ways to discover the destination.

The sister island of Barbuda is an eco-lover’s paradise, where long pink and white sand beaches are protected by impressive barrier reefs, keeping you as secluded and untouched as the island’s natural beauty. Visitors have a few options to get to Barbuda from Antigua including a 90-minute ferry ride on “The Barbuda Express” or “Island Escape,” a 15-minute flight via SVG Air or Calvin Air helicopters, or a leisure boat or catamaran. Since the storm damage in 2017, the island remains attractive and lush. There is some reconstruction still ongoing.

Set against scenic backdrops, or on picturesque beaches, the destination offers a selection of accommodations, from world-class resorts and boutique spa hotels to private luxury villas, historic inns, and intimate guest houses. The island’s award-winning hotels will leave visitors spoilt for choices with excellent services, a range of amenities, and the absolute best in fine dining.

Dinners for two can be a private meal on a moonlit beach, five-star dining or simply enjoying local cuisine in a casual beach bar. Antigua offers several resort spas where visitors can enjoy pampering services that range from body scrubs and wraps to massages, manicures, and pedicures. Pilates and yoga are also available at select locations.

When it comes to romance, it is almost inevitable in this tropical twin-island paradise. The island was voted the Caribbean’s Most Romantic Destination four years in a row by the World Travel Awards and with some of the world’s most intimate and secluded locations, it’s no wonder!

Many of Antigua and Barbuda’s properties cater to the destination wedding and vow renewal markets, with special packages and on-site wedding planners to customize every facet of the big day. Some properties offer packages that include a complimentary wedding or room upgrade. When planning a destination wedding in Antigua and Barbuda, envision a truly romantic island wedding ceremony with backdrops such as white and pink sand beaches, tropical gardens, rolling hills, gazebos, and magnificent sunsets. The ceremony can be followed by a reception, with the couple’s dream wedding created just for them.

Getting married in Antigua and Barbuda is easy and unlike many Caribbean destinations, there are no residency requirements, which allows couples to wed the same day or the next day after they arrive. All couples need to wed are valid passports, proof of citizenship, and proof of marital status. All applicants must be over 18 years of age. If the bride or groom were previously married, they will need the original divorce decree or, in the case of a widow or widower, the original marriage and death certificates. It’s as simple as ONE-TWO-THREE!
