Ziggy Green: A Vibrant Culinary and Musical Escape in the Heart of London

Tucked away just off Regent Street, Ziggy Green is a dazzling gem in London’s dynamic dining scene, and one of the standout members of the beloved Daisy Green Collection. A vibrant fusion of modern Australian cuisine, punchy cocktails, and bold interiors, with the buzzy vibe, Ziggy Green delivers a colourful and truly unforgettable experience, just as its name suggests.

Today, Heddon Street has transformed into a vibrant dining destination, which brings Australian café culture to London. Ziggy Green offers a modern vibe that complements the street’s rich musical heritage, providing visitors with a unique blend of culinary excellence. Heddon Street holds an important place in rock history as the site of the iconic cover photo for David Bowie’s 1972 album, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars.

From the moment we stepped inside Ziggy Green, we were greeted with the signature Daisy Green charm, an uplifting atmosphere that radiates warmth and a zest for life. The space is decorated with eye-catching art and vibrant patterns, creating a lively yet intimate setting that feels effortlessly cool.

We began our evening with cocktails at the bar, where the expert mixologist shook up concoctions that were as delicious as they were beautiful. Think native Aussie ingredients paired with premium spirits, every sip a delicious treat.  The menu, designed with a sophisticated edge, takes inspiration from Down Under but is firmly rooted in London’s diverse flavour choices. From zingy small plates to hearty mains, everything is crafted with care and bursting with freshness.

Dining at Ziggy Green was a true culinary treat. Choosing from the menu was great as it wasn’t too complex or large! We began with the prawns, beautifully cooked and bursting with flavour, a perfect opener that set the tone for the rest of the evening. The star of the show was undoubtedly the famous Bowie Shepherd’s Pie sharing dish, a rich and indulgent twist on a classic, served with flair and packed with comforting, delicious flavours. The Chicken Parmigiana was another standout, golden, crispy, and generously topped with melted cheese and a vibrant tomato sauce, it was both satisfying and flavoursome.  To finish, the cheesecake was a triumph, another sharing dish, it was creamy, smooth, and calorifically rich without being too heavy, the ideal end to a perfect meal.

What makes Ziggy Green particularly special is its connection to The Colony Club, located just downstairs. After dinner, we descended into a hidden world of live jazz and chic speakeasy vibes. This basement venue, also part of the Daisy Green family, is an experience in its own right. We were treated to a mesmerising performance by a jazz pianist and vocalist, Matt Tent, whose talent was truly world-class. The atmosphere was electric yet intimate, the perfect pairing to the exceptional food and drink we had just enjoyed.

It’s rare to find a restaurant that not only delivers food excellence and such a fun musical experience. At Ziggy Green, the vibrant energy of the Daisy Green brand is alive in every detail, from the impeccable, friendly service and the fun playlist to the lovely presentation and arty decor.

And after dinner…

Tucked beneath Mayfair’s Ziggy Green, The Colony Club is a hidden speakeasy gem that oozes charm and pure entertainment. We ventured down into a moody space with an air of exclusivity, setting the stage for an unforgettable night. The atmosphere was electric yet intimate, with a buzz of laughter and spontaneous dancing.

At the heart of the experience is the sensational Matt Tent, whose violin performances blend jazz and vibrant modern covers, perfectly paired with an equally brilliant pianist. Their chemistry and talent elevated the room, turning live music into magic.

The Colony Club effortlessly exudes a seductive vibe that makes it feel like London’s best-kept secret… but shhh! Maybe just whisper about it, don’t shout!

Whether you’re popping in for brunch, dinner, cocktails, or a night of smooth jazz, Ziggy Green effortlessly combines a restaurant, bar, and a live music venue perfectly. It’s a place where fun is served by the plateful, and where our visit was an uplifting celebration of food, music, and great company.

Ziggy Green isn’t just a restaurant. It’s a vibe. And we can’t wait to return.
