5- Star Terre Blanche Hotel Spa Golf Resort – your oasis in Provence

As we arrived at the lush green grounds of Terre Blanche Hotel Spa Golf Resort in Provence Côte d’Azur, France we were immediately informed the grounds were larger than the whole of Monaco, it was impressive indeed.

The hotel is large and imposing, modern and yet traditional at the same time, it had an air of tranquility about it. We checked in to our suite which was a short buggy ride from reception and we unpacked. As we always do we checked out the facilities in the suite. The first thing I have to say is we had a fabulous view from our huge terrace overlooking the golf course and it included two sun beds. The suite was bright and thoughtfully designed, using the space to maximum benefit, we had ample room to work and relax, and the bed was sumptuous and comfortable.

With a minimum area of 60 m², the suites and villas are spread out in independent country houses, on the hillside facing the medieval villages. The suites and villas are all luxuriously appointed and ideal for a weekend break or a longer stay during your holidays.

We had a couple of hours left in the day to take advantage of the pool area.  The infinity pool is heated to a perfect 28 degrees and provides a panoramic view of the hills of the Pays de Fayence.  There is also poolside dining and superb cocktails, fluffy towels, and lots of private cabañas if you feel the need for a little privacy.

When you’ve enjoyed a round of golf and your muscles need a bit of kneading to ease those aches and pains, a visit to the spa may well be in order. I hadn’t played golf, I had simply enjoyed the pool area, but I didn’t feel the slightest bit guilty for indulging in a body massage. 100% natural oils are used in the peaceful and luxurious surroundings of the treatment rooms and you can choose from a selection of massages  – relaxing, circulatory, energetic and targeted massages, I went for relaxing and that was exactly how I felt after an hour with my extremely well-qualified therapist.

The majority of guests are staying in Terre Blanche for the two immaculate golf courses and is it any wonder when you learn the awards they have achieved. Terre Blanche is ranked the 10th Best Golf Resort in the World alongside such renowned resorts as Pebble Beach, Pinehurst, Turnberry, and Gleneagles and equally impressively in October 2020, Terre Blanche was also ranked No. 1 Best Golf Resort in Continental Europe by Golf World (UK).

To ensure Terre Blanche maintains this truly amazing accolade the golf teams have recently replaced the grass of tees, semi-roughs and fairways on both courses with the aim of both courses being fully composed of Bermuda Grass Riviera by summer 2023. A thin, thick and firm grass that can be found in some of the most prestigious golf courses around the world.  No wonder then golfers flock here from near and far to experience golf on these two courses, to the highest level.

There are also plenty of dining options at Terre Blanche, from the Clubhouse: Les Caroubiers that offers a very casual dining experience, but still smart of course, after all these are golfers and they are always immaculately turned out. The menu included all sorts, from burgers and club sandwiches to salmon linguine and a golfers omelette and fries, all tasty and perfect following a tricky 18 holes. We enjoyed a great lunch here sitting on the high terrace over-looking the golf course and everything was delicious.

That evening we were invited to dine in Le Faventia, a gourmet restaurant a most special experience of extreme fine dining. Inspired by Mediterranean flavours, Chef Christophe Schmitt gains his inspiration from seasonal produce and supports a team passionate about food. He creates colourful and flavoursome dishes, taking a playful approach to textures and unusual and inspiring combinations of authentic and exotic dishes. Each course was prepared with great care and attention to detail. The Chef loves to use local produce and is a believer in creating intense yet delicate flavours, traditional to the Southern France. The terrace overlooks the hotel’s infinity pool and has a stunning view of the surrounding countryside. The resort of Terre Blanche, far from the bustle of urban life and busy roads, enjoys a unique location in the heart of an unspoiled natural environment.

We chose a four-course tasting menu, it was tailored to our taste and was simply the most exceptional and delightful meal we’ve ever enjoyed. Each dish was mouthwatering, tasty, delightful, gorgeous, lip-smacking, yummy, and wonderful in taste and aroma. The entire meal was a piece of art, artistically and delicately presented on stunning crockery. The team was knowledgeable and efficient and the wine pairing was amazing, it was an experience we will always treasure.

Whether you are looking for simply a little peace and quiet, spa, golf, or excursions, take the time to discover this stunning area, you will love the feeling of escapism exploring this amazing destination.

Our short stay at this stunning resort was relaxing and a culinary experience, second to none.
