Discovering Young LDN: A Bespoke Medispa Born from Necessity

Young LDN is the inspiration of Sue Carroll. She was searching for specialist skin treatments for her teenage son and struggled to find a salon that could successfully treat him. So, what did she do? She opened her own medispa, realising this was a universal issue.

But fear not—Young LDN is not just for the young. Their bespoke facials are just that: bespoke, regardless of age. So when I was invited to enjoy a personalised facial, I jumped at the chance. I hadn’t had one for about four months.

The Super-Cool Vibe of Notting Hill’s Hidden Gem

The salon sits in the heart of iconic Notting Hill, surrounded by fabulous boutiques, bars, restaurants, hairdressers, and beauty salons. Young LDN has a super-cool vibe, with colourful and interesting décor, and a friendly, buzzy atmosphere.

I was introduced to my aesthetician, Roxanne, who took me downstairs to the ‘Aesthetics Lab’, where the advanced skincare treatments take place. There were several rooms offering dozens of different treatments. The rooms were clean, bright, and individually designed, equipped with all manner of technical equipment. In this area, they treat everything from teenage acne, adult acne, and acne scarring, to rosacea, sun damage, wrinkles, and loss of tone. They also offer an array of body treatments, from laser hair removal to fat freezing and IPL.

My Blissful Bespoke Anti-Ageing Facial

My bespoke anti-ageing facial took an hour and was completely blissful. Roxanne explained every step and gave me lots of really useful advice for home care. The treatment included three different cleanses, a gentle exfoliation, antioxidant and vitamin solutions, LED light therapy, and a mask. As I explained to Roxanne, my skin had been feeling dry and tight, and looked dull. Within an hour, it looked refreshed and felt soft and supple, with no dry patches or tightness. My complexion looked completely different—plumped up, with fine lines appearing softer. Now, all I have to do is carry on the good work at home.

Indulging in the Deluxe Pedicure

Following my facial, I was treated to a luxury pedicure with gel. The ground floor is the Beauty Lounge, where you can indulge in a mini facial, make-up lesson, manicure, pedicure, and lash and brow treatments. My feet are in good shape—I take good care of them with regular pedicures—but the Young LDN Deluxe Pedicure with gel was a cut above the rest. It included all cuticle work, hard skin removal, massage, and gel application, all in a super-comfy pedicure chair. I chose French for a change, applied with complete precision. They looked perfect and felt wonderful.
