Manica Radjou steps in as Director of the Sun Siyam Regional Office in the Emirates

This month sees the opening of Sun Siyam Resorts’ regional office in Dubai, enabling the hospitality group to tap into the GCC market following a rise in travel as we near the end of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Since opening its first resort over 20 years ago, Sun Siyam Resorts has grown to own and manage five luxury private island properties in the Maldives and a boutique beach retreat on the East Coast of Sri Lanka. Each resort is unique, but what unites them all is the genuine warmth and heartfelt hospitality of their people, many of whom have been with the hospitality group from the beginning.

Previous Emirates Holidays’ Product and Contracting Manager, Manica Radjou, speaks on the “exciting opportunity that this new office will bring by opening many doors for the resort, attracting a new demographic and customer base within the UAE and Middle East.” Stepping in as Director of the Dubai office, Radjou has the experience needed to take Sun Siyam Resorts to new heights within the GCC.

Beginning with the intent to promote inbound tourism to the Maldives, Sun Siyam Travels was established in 1990, founded by Ahmed Siyam Mohamed, the Chairman and Managing Director of the Group. The opening of a Dubai-based office will allow the company to expand its operations globally with focused attention on the GCC region to gain market share for its portfolio.

Sun Siyam Resorts has announced that Siyam World, its fifth property in the Maldives and a stand-alone brand in its collection, opened on 28th October 2021. This revolutionary resort is located on a stunning natural island nestled in the Noonu Atoll, surrounded by a 1.5 km house reef teeming with a diverse array of aquatic life, intending to deliver resort-goers an unseen Maldivian experience. Forging its own maverick path away from the Maldives mainstream, Siyam World is on a mission to bring guests the broadest offering of unique experiences and pioneering concepts ever seen in the Maldives – from the country’s biggest floating water park to a peerless WOW! 24-hour premium all-inclusive concept across more than a dozen restaurants and bars.

Commenting on the opening of the Sun Siyam Regional Office in Dubai, Deepak Booneady, Vice President – Commercial at Sun Siyam Resorts, looks forward to the “growth and development of the brand in the region. The easy access of inbound flights to the popular holiday destination has further secured increased travellers to the country from the Middle East. Middle Eastern millennials are especially keen to flock to top-notch tourist destinations with their families by their side; trends show increased preference to travel in small groups. Our resorts tick all the boxes as a popular brand for Middle Easterners.”

We look forward to seeing the growth of Sun Siyam Resorts in the coming months with the launch of their new Dubai office and a breakthrough into the GCC market.
