The Brand’s Origins
Born in the UK, Lorna Jane Clarkson established the Australian-designed brand in 1989. She sewed her first one-off design at home after years of frustration with the workout fashion of the 1980s. As an aerobics instructor, she developed products she loved to wear in her own active life. Creators of the term ‘Activewear’, Lorna and her team have challenged fashion perceptions, evolving her vision into an iconic category: ‘Women’s Technical Fashion’.
Commitment to Sustainability
With an ongoing goal to change customers’ attitudes to shopping, Lorna Jane believes sustainability is not a luxury, but the future. Driven to ensure their communities, the planet, and the environment are as healthy as the women who wear their activewear, they encourage saying no to fast fashion.
They achieve this by transitioning out of single-use plastics, developing recycled fabrics, sourcing reusable and sustainable materials, using soy-based inks, water-based varnish, chlorine-free pulps with FSC and ISO credentials in environmental sustainability and Responsible Forestry Practices, and reducing emissions by keeping unnecessary trucks off the roads. Responsibly produced, Lorna Jane maintains a long-term partnership with an ethical, Australian-owned and managed manufacturing group that is WRAP (Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production) certified.

Starting as a passion to deliver unique designs to fellow gym lovers, Lorna Jane is now an international movement with over 140 stores globally and a connected community of more than three million women embracing Active Living.
