As an island nation, seafaring is indelibly linked to Britain’s history and emergence as a world power. But our relationship with the seas around us has now changed. Now, it offers an aquatic playground for those passionate about sailing and yachting.

It’s a hobby, however, for those with the finances to invest in a vessel. The cost of a yacht can stretch into the millions. There is the option of chartering a boat instead, but those keen to own a vessel outright should consider factoring in boat insurance cover as it is undoubtedly an investment to be protected.
