Apex City of Bath Hotel – a true city centre gem
Beautiful Bath has been a well-being destination since Roman times. It holds some of the finest independent shops and restaurants in Britain, making it the ideal city break.
Apex City of Bath Hotel is perfectly located in the heart of Bath, just a short walk from the famous Thermae Bath Spa, Roman Baths, and Royal Victoria Park. It is also home to Bath’s largest purpose-built conference facility.
I was lucky to visit the luxurious Apex City of Bath, a 4-star hotel that is by far one of the best in Bath. Perfect for family breaks, couple staycations, business meetings, events, and even weddings, this hotel gem has a lot to offer.
The Superior Room started our stay on a strong note. With a luxurious bedroom and bathroom, this space is ideal for a trip full of relaxation, exploration, and everything in between. The room features a king-size bed, bath, walk-in shower, bathrobes, Antipodes toiletries, Nespresso coffee machine, and a 49-inch TV. It also includes a mini fridge, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, complimentary snacks, and a flexible desk and vanity area.
The staff at Apex City of Bath were exceptionally kind and left us a beautiful sweet treat display with ‘Welcome to Bath’ crafted from chocolate, along with a bottle of champagne. This was a lovely gesture, and the champagne went down a treat.
Dining at Apex City of Bath Hotel
At Apex City of Bath, you can enjoy a luxury fine-dining experience alongside a healthy breakfast. The Orange Artichoke isn’t just a meal; it’s a journey. We savoured a three-course meal with wine poured by our attentive waiter. Floor-to-ceiling windows and Scandi-style interiors flowing from restaurant to bar create an ultra-cool spot to eat and drink.
For starters, I enjoyed the pea and ham velouté served with homemade bread – scrumptious and a huge thumbs up. To follow, the pan-fried sirloin steak with cherry tomatoes, triple-cooked chips, and peppercorn sauce was cooked to perfection; it might just be the best steak I’ve ever tried. For dessert, the chocolate and orange bread and butter pudding with vanilla ice cream was a delightful finish.
Facilities
If I wasn’t already impressed with Apex City of Bath, the facilities sealed the deal. Stylish meeting rooms, a heated pool, and a gym make it perfect for any stopover in Bath.
The swimming pool offers warm, ambient temperatures and a relaxing atmosphere with heated poolside loungers. The area screams relaxation, complemented by a steam room, sauna, and shower experience.
To manage capacity, guests book one-hour pool slots at reception on arrival – easily done for your entire stay. This ensures ample relaxation time without crowds.
Gym access is complimentary, featuring free weights, cardio, and resistance equipment.
Overall, Apex City of Bath is a great hotel for visiting the lovely city of Bath. The welcoming staff and spectacular food make it a place I’d return to in a heartbeat.
