Discovering the Art of Subtle Aesthetics

I’m 30 years old and can truly appreciate aesthetics as a form of art. I am cautious about whom I see and do my research thoroughly; my due diligence is extensive. When it comes down to aesthetic treatments, they do not have to be invasive, and they should never be obvious. It is all about subtle differences that lift your appearance, but no one knows what is different.

Located in one of the most picturesque and trendy parts of London, Primrose Hill, lies the beautiful, five-star Medispa, Aesthetics Lab. Upon walking into the clinic, an aura of zen fell upon me. The entrance was bright and airy and decked out with ZO Skin Health and Cosmedix products, which are clinically proven to be some of the best brands available for your skin health. After completing a lengthy consultation form to detail exactly what I was concerned about and what I hoped to achieve from my appointment, I was taken through and greeted by Dr. Marco La Malfa, one of the most cheerful and warm people I have had the pleasure of meeting.

Meet Dr. Marco La Malfa

Dr. Marco is a very highly experienced and established consultant and a member of ESRA (European Society of Regional Anaesthesia). He is a highly advanced non-surgical practitioner who is passionate about Cosmetic Medicine and has trained with some of the UK’s most eminent Plastic Surgeons. Dr. Marco has been practising Aesthetic Medicine for over 15 years and is currently working in both the Primrose Hill and Belgravia clinics. He is an injectables trainer for the Menarini Group and a valued member of the injectables complications committee in the UK. He performs highly advanced procedures to achieve long-term results in anti-ageing and cosmetic treatments. His attention to detail is commendable, and he strives for perfection in all that he does. I immediately felt at ease as I sat down with Marco. With a huge number of accolades and diplomas to his name, he was indeed an amazing advert for his profession—stunningly youthful and friendly, to a fault! But it was very reassuring at the same time.

My Wrinkle Rejuvenation Treatment

Marco explained to me that he felt some wrinkle rejuvenation treatment around my eyes would draw away from the area under my eyes, which I described as ‘sunken and hollow’. He explained that I had a great supporting structure on my cheekbones and showed me where and why it would be beneficial to treat my ‘crow’s feet’, the delicate area around the corner of the eyes. Treating this area would reduce the lines that appear when I smile. Wrinkle rejuvenation treatments are the most popular non-surgical anti-ageing treatment for smoothing lines and wrinkles. ‘You’ll start to see an effect after 3-5 days but in some cases could take up to 2 weeks,’ Marco informed me. Three days later, I noticed the lines had eased up incredibly and drew my attention away from underneath my eyes. To keep results looking optimum, I was told to avoid things such as smoking, excess drinking, and sun exposure and was highly encouraged to wear Vitamin C and SPF 50 every day.

Final Thoughts

I have always believed that the best work through aesthetics is the work you cannot tell has been done, and I cannot recommend Dr. Marco at Aesthetics Lab enough. A true artist!
