THIX Banishes Single-Use Plastic

Sustainability comes as standard at THIX. Bathrooms generate a lot of plastic waste and clutter, with over 8 million tonnes of plastic ending up in the oceans each year. THIX uses 100% recycled aluminium bottles, caps and lids. Aluminium is widely recycled, infinitely recyclable and never deteriorates, making it the most sustainable material for personal care products.

Nearly 75% of all aluminium ever produced is still in circulation today, and because it’s recycled, it uses 95% less energy than virgin aluminium. The optional plastic pump is recommended for the conditioner and can be reused with each new bottle.

Caffeine-Based Formula

Caffeine is a scientifically proven, natural stimulator of hair follicle growth. Studies of human hair follicles show that caffeine increases cell energy by acting against a protein called phosphodiesterase. The research shows that caffeine combats hair loss by inducing hair cells to produce Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP), a molecule that carries energy to help stimulate growth. Caffeine has also been shown to increase the protein insulin-like growth factor (IGF-1), an important signalling molecule in promoting hair growth. More specifically, caffeine has also been shown to potentially reverse the effects of dihydrotestosterone (DHT)—the main hormone involved in common balding.

Our hair uses proteins to build tissue cells. Natural proteins re-energise hair roots and increase the structural strength of hair follicles, making hair healthier, thicker and stronger. Keratin is the dominant protein in hair, making up around 90% of the composition. It is scientifically proven to generate hair growth and regeneration. Not only does the THIX formula include natural plant keratin (derived from corn, soybeans and wheat), but also the vitamin biotin (B7), which stimulates more keratin production and can increase the rate of follicle growth.
