Thornbury Castle, a stunning 16th-century castle hotel in Gloucestershire, has recently retained its 3 AA Rosettes for food quality and 4 Red Stars for service quality and operation of the hotel. The AA Rosette Award, first awarded in 1956, was the first nationwide scheme for assessing the quality of food served by restaurants and hotels. The team of inspectors have an unrivalled wealth of experience in assessing quality throughout the UK so receiving an award is a huge achievement.

Thornbury Castle, a Relais & Châteaux Hotel, is the only Tudor Castle in England to be open as a hotel. King Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn slept in one of the 26 bedchambers and walked through the ancient gardens.
