Our recent stay at Broomhill Manor in Bude, Cornwall, was nothing short of magical. Nestled within the grounds of a stunning manor house, this charming holiday village offered everything we could have hoped for in a relaxing and family-friendly getaway.

Broomhill Manor is a small collection of 18 family-friendly holiday cottages with facilities to keep you busy all year round, set in well-manicured grounds and within walking distance of award-winning Bude on the stunning North Cornwall Coast.

Our Cottage

We stayed in a beautifully appointed three-bedroom cottage, which was impeccably clean and wonderfully comfortable. The space felt like a true home away from home, thoughtfully designed and fully equipped with everything we needed. One of the highlights was our private garden, perfect for soaking up the sunshine, enjoying a leisurely BBQ, and unwinding in the jacuzzi. Our four-legged friend was also made to feel incredibly welcome, as several of the cottages are dog-friendly, with plenty of open space and nearby walks to explore.

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a warm welcome — not just from our lovely hosts, but also by Trigger, Marlene, and Dave, the resident peacocks (named after Only Fools and Horses characters) who roam the grounds with regal charm and a touch of humour.

Facilities and On-Site Amenities

Broomhill Manor offers a wide range of fantastic on-site facilities that cater to both relaxation and recreation. We made the most of the gym and the indoor pool. The outdoor pool was being spruced up for the summer. There’s also a bar open on select evenings, offering a relaxed social atmosphere without having to venture too far.

One of the most wonderful touches was the option to order a delicious home-cooked meal from the incredibly talented local chef, Nicky. Her dishes were mouth-watering, convenient, and a real treat after a long day exploring.

I also booked a massage with Hazel, whose expert hands worked wonders on my tired and aching muscles — a truly blissful experience that added an extra layer of luxury to our holiday.

Location and Surroundings

The location is perfect for discovering the beauty of North Cornwall. Broomhill Manor is just a stone’s throw from Bude’s stunning beaches, making it easy to enjoy long walks along the sand, invigorating sea swims, or simply relaxing with a view. The area is surrounded by charming seaside towns, all brimming with quaint tea rooms, independent shops, and excellent restaurants, offering a real taste of Cornish hospitality.

Whether you’re planning a family holiday, a romantic escape, or a dog-friendly break by the sea, Broomhill Manor ticks every box. With its welcoming atmosphere, thoughtful touches, beautiful setting, and excellent facilities, it’s easy to see why so many guests return year after year. We left feeling rested, refreshed, and already dreaming of our next visit.
