Bread and coffee sommeliers set sail with VIVA Cruises’ first gourmet voyage
European river cruise specialist VIVA Cruises is serving up something truly special this November: its first-ever gourmet river cruise aboard VIVA ENJOY, the company’s newest ship. This five-day culinary journey along the Danube, round-trip from Vienna, will spotlight Austria’s modern and diverse cuisine.
Onboard, guests will be guided by a dedicated bread sommelier, master coffee roaster Johanna Wechselberger, and master of wine Romana Echensperger, elevating the dining experience to new heights. There will be fine dining menus paired with exceptional wines, immersive culinary shore excursions, and exclusive experiences — including a private dinner for VIVA Cruises guests at the Albertina Museum of Art in Vienna, the largest museum of modern art in Central Europe.
The itinerary also includes a gourmet tram tour through Vienna, a visit to the renowned Sandgrube 13 winery in Krems, and lively onboard entertainment. A variety of culinary experts will host talks and tastings, making this a feast for both the palate and the mind.
“Our guests will embark on a gourmet journey that celebrates Austria’s rich culinary heritage,” says Andrea Kruse, CEO of VIVA Cruises. “We’re thrilled to introduce a bread sommelier and coffee expert to the programme — perfectly aligning with our philosophy of pairing fine dining with unforgettable travel.”
VIVA ENJOY, which launched in January 2025, is the newest jewel in the VIVA Cruises fleet. With space for 190 guests, three restaurants, a wellness area, and solar-powered sustainability features, it is the ideal setting for this one-of-a-kind epicurean escape.
Like all VIVA Cruises itineraries, the gourmet cruise will feature the signature VIVA All-Inclusive product, which includes high tea, full board, high-quality alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, minibar, beauty products from cosmetics brand Rituals, Wi-Fi, and all tips and gratuities.
The gourmet cruise sets sail from Vienna 20–24 November, visiting Krems, Melk, and Linz. Prices from £1,495 per person — including all experiences and tastings.
